Update 5.1 and Skirmish soldier mark refunds

Yes, Turbine rep Zombie Columbus admitted this in a post from Dec 13 2011 06:11 PM. It's available via Dev Tracker.

"Upon looking into it, Rank costs are indeed too high. Skirmish Rank traits use different formulas then other item purchases in the Skirmish barter, and the relative adjustments we made when changing from SM to Marks was not fully applied to Ranks."

They made a mistake with Update 5( this was update 5 right?), so the mark costs didn't scale down like it should do.
( note he doesn't say it is bugged)

I still don't see why people who bought soldier ranks BEFORE update 5 should get a refund.
People who bought upgrades between that update and this "fix" could get one, but you could say they bought something that had a known defect and they still chose to buy it.

True enough. It's still grind though and a grind I would gladly avoid (or use to something else) if I could.

I think Jarnos is serious. Both take considerable number of hours of game play. You could pull out your credit card and buy the Turbine Points if you do not want to grind for them.

I opted for not buying ranks with my Skirmish marks.

And how do you think people knew about it ? Was there a warning when talking to skirmish trainer "Sorry, I have a bug. Do not spent marks on your soldier in this update". Because that would have been the only way to support your claim.

Reading forums is Not a game requirement, nor it should be!
