    First Age Weapons

    Hello Wardens,

I just got lucky the other night and acquired my 1st age symbol at Kalbak T2. Now, I wonder whether a spear is worth it and it strongly depends on the Threat-up Rating for f-sp on it. On a 2nd age it ist +9 maxed out, would anyone know how high it is on a 1st age?

    Thank you,
    Ethedor

First off yes, its worth it if only for the additional DPS. You probably want a FA melee before a FA javelin, if thats what you're asking, unless you run a whole lot of Assailment for groups

Second, for legacies that are just Levels (ie not an actual number), they're always going to be the same. Threat Up Level 1-9 will always just be Level 1-9.

Whether you actually get more threat bonus from a Level 9 FA vs a Level 9 SA is something only a dev could answer, and probably wont...

    AW: First Age Weapons

Thanks for the answer, that's half of what I wanted to know.

The f-sp Threat-Up Rating legacy gives +9 at max level on a 2nd age. I suppose, the rating on a 1st age should be around 11-13 on max level. At least it was that way back when 65 was cap.

How much threat that actually is, does not matter so much. If it is an increase from rating 9 to rating 11, it's 22%, if I'm not mistaken.

    [edit - to clarify]
rating /= level. Level 9 gives rating +9 on a second age, but I suppose level 9 gives rating +11 on a first age.

Thumbs up Re: First Age Weapons

FA for tanking is just not necessary for tanking. threat level doesnt changes. i would make a dps stick that FA. and probably spear 10m min range thing make assailment tricky to use.
btw, if threat does change. still why would you need it? warden agro is already on beast mod its hard to lose agro even on purpose sometimes.

    edit: Grats for symbol!!

Hehe, thats other reason, why i am taking pause from warden, there is no real purpose to have 1st age legendaries, everyone has better dmg, better healing, or something, but warden nothing, again...

Is that confirmed? I'm not sure how to read your post, whether you guess or know Sorry, not a native speaker.

More is better, and I figured, if I could get more threat for free, I would take it. More room for errors especially in the first few seconds of the fight, more time for my own buffs and heals and all. And on the long run I expect EoB to get a nerf, so more threat might actually come in handy.

It is viable, just cause you have more points to spent on legacys, imho.

You also get slightly more ratings points for BPE legacies with FA weapons, not a lot but every little bit helps.

Well I dont think the threat legacies change but I thought the warden threat component amounts were multiples of the warden's base attack damage? So the higher your base damage, the better your threat moves are. I thought it was easier for me to keep aggro by switching from a third age spear to second age, but maybe thats just because I was expecting it.

Thanks to everyone here. I borrowed the symbol to a kinmate for now, so I will have to wait for results anyway. I'll keep you posted.

If you're referring to TV - EoB threat, this is a confirmed bug and WILL be reduced. How much it will be reduced, only Orion knows, but it is conceivable that after TV - EoB is fixed we're going to struggle with aggro.

After the fix, more aggro on our LIs means more time we can spend with buffs/heals.

I'm really not looking forward to going back to the days when we have to beg others in the group to give us time at the beginning of the fight to build up aggro. On top of the silly jiggs we need to dance before tough pulls while other teammates watch and snicker (I'm usually snickering along with them), I sure hope that we would not be asking them to wait a similar amount of time even once the fight starts. If TV needs to be unbugged, I'm hoping that aggression will be buffed back up (or that something else will be done to help out on initial aggro).
The generation of random numbers is too important to be left to chance.

Honestly guys, EoB does 15k worth of threat even without terrible visage. If you go e.g. Goad, 2x EoB, Conviction, what could possibly go wrong? As long as nobody drags the enemy out of range, before you can fire off EoB, you're still pretty safe on threat, I would say.
