With respect to Wargs, lets get a few things clear:
First and foremost: Wargs were never a hard class to play. They've always been the easiest class and the most rewarding class at the same time. That has been true from SoA til now. And, that is why you see still see an overwhelming abundance of wargs to date.
Second: Wargs are a stealth class, so you always have an advantage. They have the inate liberty to pick and choose their fights.
Third: Wargs have the best escape skills in the game. You have the highest odds out of any creep or freep in escaping an encounter.
Fourth: U6 has allotted wargs the abilities to be even more effective in solo and group play. They have had their calculated solo kill-ability increased as well as their mitigations trumped only by warleaders while in flayer.
Summary: Turbines loves their wargs, and hates their Reavers
And that is why everyone plays Wargs. They can choose their fights, win when they want, and retreat when they don't win.
Thats what you call a five year experiment............on weed. :O
The worse part is that we still haven't had any new pipeweed animations. Must be the lazy side-effect.
