With the rollout of the new Forums all the links in the Original Post are now broken.

When I click on the links I get a page with a picture of Gandalf and the words "You Shall Not Pass!"

Wondering how many guides were lost with the rollout of the new forums because people didn't save them before hand?

    Link?

Hey, Gandalf won't let me in. I thought it was up and running, or am I doing something wrong?

Heya - I try all the link sand I keep getting faced with the " You cannot Pass " page, even though I'm logged in. I notice that the URL starts with https - even changing ti to http makes no difference - anyone shed any light on this problem ?

The links are dead since Turbine has discontinued the lorebook service

Fortunately a snapshot of the page still exist in the internet archives:

With the Lorebook gone it appears our best site for information like this is LOTRO-Wiki

Not sure how up to date it is (or will be in future) but there is a page for Legendary Items

Since the Lorebook links are no longer valid and the 'snapshot' provided links in previous posts will be outdated in HD, no point this thread being sticky anymore.

    Links don't seem to work.

Are there any 2nd Age or 1st Age Level 95 LIs out there or are they all 3rd Age?

FA: AFAIK, there isn't any FA symbols yet.
SA: You get a symbol to craft a lvl 95 SA from the HD epic, and there are more to barter for via Helmingas rep or skirmish camps.
TA: AFAIK, there aren't any mob dropped lvl 95 TA's. The only lvl 95 landscape mobs are war-bands, and I've yet to see one drop a LI. Though, you can craft them.

Alright, I took a long break from the game. I'm back... I'm going to rewrite a new guide... Since I am gonna rewrite a new guide, I'm gonna do it start to finish as in I am gonna level a new character thru the whole mess. If there is anyone who would like to give me a hand with information or (as my character is almost to Moria) help with leveling thru Fellowship quests fell free to PM that info to me on the forums. If you want to help me in game, I am on Ele..

There is no point in crafting any level 85 anything because they messed up the game balance when they made the level 86 3rd age stuff it ends up being to time better than I 1st age level 85 so unless they fix the game balance for everything crafted 86 and up all the level 85 stuff is pretty much junk so the good part is nobody need to make any 1st age stuff for level 85 just make or pick up a 3rd age trove level 86 or higher and it will blow away all the level 85 and down for any crafted items no matter the what age it is. Too bad we can't craft level 86 2nd agers because they would be equal to a level 95 1st age stuff or even better. The bad part is now you have to use 86 and up 3rd age stuff and I don't like have to use any 3rd age stuff for anything other than leveling to make legacies. when I stated to compare stats on the level 86 and up stuff and seen how overpowered the 3rd agers where I was shocked they really screwed the pouch on this one so it basically make the the 85th level symbols of the eldar king not needed whatsoever now is that a kick in the pants or what and they just keep firing folks here for their profit WB has messed this game up so bad they should fire themselves if Tolkien could see what they have done his work they never would have got that contract renewal and before you call me crazy compare the stats on everything from 85 to 86 instead of one level it looks more like 10 levels really check it out my wife just had to scrap her 1st age level 85 stuff for level 86 the cool part is now we can use weapons that cost 500 silver and scrap all the stuff you just made for 500+ gold not bad now everyone can do a tier 1 level 86 skirmish solo it and and in now few hour have all the best stuff in the game for the next 10 levels this is the new no grind version of lotro I really feel bad for all those folks that payed like 800 gold for the 85th level symbols LOL

No not true all the new level 86 stuff was scaled messed up and all the level 86 stuff is like level 95 or higher so basically everything below level 86 is not worth making at all

    Upgrade (stars) on legendary items

I don't get to play very often and I have to re-learn everything in game each visit, but something that I can not work out is how to "upgrade" the "3 stars" on a legendary item so that the "stars" picture on the item look or change to gold near the Upgrade wording. I see it on other characters and I have no idea what purpose it does other than the wording "upgrade", I have read through days of literature here on the forums and on the WWW, but the word Upgrade talks about alot regarding legendary items. I am unsure of how to obtain or make or get my item "stars" to go from the dull brown to the obviously used gold colour. That's the only way I can explain it. I've sat at the 2 variety of forges many times pondering. Can anyone be of assistance, possibly with pictures. Please note , the links at the beginning of this thread , go no where for me , not working.

You resurrected a thread that has been dead for a long time . . . but it is good to note that you tried to do your research.

SSG should desticky this thread and let it die, to be certain.

What you are looking to find are star-lit crystals. There are a number of different types introduced at different levels for LI's within that level range.

See, for example, information on the Level 100 version:

    https://lotro-wiki.com/index.php/Ite...ar-lit_Crystal
Meadowlarke Sweetweed on Landroval. Also nephews and Bounders Ayrhawk, Wrennsong, and Little Meadowlark Sweetweed
Club Eclair roleplaying group working our way through Volume III. We are currently at Level 63 roleplaying our way through Enedwaith as we escort the Gray Company to the south (Alphred Troute, Hedgerow Shrewburrow). https://forums.lotro.com/forums/show...See-the-Wizard

Club Eclair - The Bearclaws. A newer Club Eclair group that is currently at level 32 in Evendim (Trebble Strawfoot) https://forums.lotro.com/forums/show...acter-RP-group.

Yes I have some of those of variety in the vault , this info helps with the pictures and item link .....but now how to use these starlit crystals or relevant level crystal on the relevant legendary Item. Also is it best to fully ..errmm complete the item with all the gems and legacies in place / skill upgrades first etc etc ...or attach the startlit crystal item on a newly made item .. .. prior. Note : I have no idea what the meaning of "imbued" or what that word was .... to the item either.

I was trying to help a kinnie today and came across two guides that may be of help to you. The first lays out the steps to take in the imbuing process and then the second is more in-depth as to why.

    Using OLD LIs for Cosmetics

    Mae govannen, mellyn,

One of the things that concerns me about the new LI system is the lack of cosmetic weapons. I don't know if this has been discussed at this point, but crafting, especially guilded crafting, has taken a huge hit until it gets updated for the new LIs. Right now, the best way to get the myriad of weapon styles that the old LI system affords is to craft them or buy the crafted ones and drag-n-drop them directly to your Wardrobe without the need to identify. I wanted to pass that along, as I don't believe it has been discussed at this point. New accounts and/or players going to a new server will not have the ability to collect them as we have in the past, so this might ease your stress over ugly weapons.
