Armour

Some questions how important is armour to a captain who does DPS (red) or Tanking (yellow). Is their a cap on heavy armour.

I often get 2 items to barter for like shields one has the better stats the other not as good stats but better armour.

Which should i go for and why

Armour adds mitigations. 1:1 to common damage 5:1 to all non common tactical, beleriand etc.
So a needed stat for tanking except you get a shield with less armour but for that direct mitigations on it.
