Question on in-game music

I was having a debate and would like an answer please.

If a person was to record the in-game music (not player music, the locations music) to listen to for themselves (not to sell, not to share with others) would that be considered pirating?

Technically, yes. Whether or not that is a problem or a moral failing or whatever is up to you.

Why do you want to copy it? If you got Spotify, a quick search for Lotro or Chance Thomas will give you plenty, and the same with youtube with 'lotro music'. Better quality than an ingame recorder would make too.

To be fair, there's some good music in the game that wasn't made by Chance Thomas and isn't available on any official thing, like the most recent stuff from South Ithilien onwards.
