The 8th Annual Month a the Chicken Event Listing

Sadly, Daffodilia is not available to do any awesome graphics for us this year, and the less said about my attempts at graphic design, the better. But what I can do is help get your chicken trained for a Free Range run, and then take you through it.

Currently scheduled (more events will be added later):

FryDay, August 11th, 7pm: Chicken Races: This year young Meadowlark has devised some devious routes through the Shire for racing chickens to navigate as fast as their fleet feet can manage! Meet at the Mustering Hill in Michel Delving.

Saturday, August 12th, 2pm: Green Eggs Camp: Hologro will be hosting a Chicken Camp to help out fledgling trainers and chickens take their first tenantive steps into the wider world. Meet at Sandson's Farm.

Sunday, August 13th, 1:30pm: Flying the Coop: North Downs Camp: Hologro will help guide chickens through the dangers that lurk close to the roads as they make their way to the eastern side of the North Downs. Meet at Sandson's Farm.

Monday, August 14th, 8:30pm: Quails and Tails: Hosted by the Lonely Mountain Band at Sandson's Farm. 8:30 pm EDT /servertime for open stage, 9:30 pm for main show. Wear yer best chicken-y attire!

Tuesday, August 15th, 8:00pm: Special Swim to Evendim: We're sneaking in a special free-wing chicken run to Evendim for those who wish to have their golden chicken in time for the Free Range event at the end of the month. Meet at Sandson's Farm and be ready to just keep swimming, just keep swimming, swimming, swimming...

    FryDay, August 18th, 9pm
: Safe by Day, Trolls by Night: Rivendell bound. Meet at Sandson's Farm. Chicken Tender Hologro will be helping Trainers, additional Chicken Tenders and Wingchicks will be available to act as guards and guides.

Sunday, August 27th, 3pm: Crosser of Roads: The fourth year Concerning Hobbits has offered to lead chickens who must range free! This event is for folks who have earned a Golden Chicken and wish to gain the coveted title of "Crosser of Roads". Not fer the faint of heart! But don't worries, Unclie Rooster will lead the way. Meet at Sandson's Farm. NOTE: The date has been moved back a day.

The schedule is a bit more sparse than in previous years, partly because we got a late start on scheduling it and partly because I'll be offline for several days due to eclipse-travel reasons. Since we're still trying to do one chicken-related event every month for the Year of the Rooster, expect to see a Minas Tirith run and "They're taking the hens to Amon Hen" event later this year.

    Sweet +1, clearing my schedule.
Will try to provide help, if possible, for other events, this is a busy month for me.
Thank you to all for making these events happen. See you soon.
    Bwak.

I think I just found a path up Mount Doom that leads to what used to be the Crack of Doom, making an eventual "chickens to Mount Doom" run before the end of the year much more likely.

Yep, I need to do a better job keeping my calendar updated. I'm teaching a class on the afternoon of the 26th, so this has been moved to the 27th. My apologies.

(Y'all may be able to guilt me into adding another Free Range run mid-week to make up for that.)

Despite having to restart my computer three times, last night's chickens did all make it to their destination, no small feat for a Rivendell run!

I'm off until Wednesday for eclipse purposes. If anyone wants help with any Flying the Coop runs before the 27th, mail Hologro in-game and we'll figure something out.

There's no way I can manage a 6-hour run: it won't start until 8pm for me and it's a work-night: maybe some of us in the UK ought to gang up and organise an event of our own.

I do hope to be able to make the first couple of hours this time around, so I'll be looking out for the message.

Sadly, my Steam client crashed during the screenshot uploads, so this was the only one it managed to send:

I'll throw in this link to the screenshot I posted to FB to show that all four chickens successfully completed the run: https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?f...type=3&theater

That you to everyone who helped make this year's Month a the Chicken happen!

Congrats to all chickens and a hearty thank you to the escorts.

Despite my best attempts and the clearing of my schedule, i was unable to make the chicken run.
    Maybe next year...

Thank you for having me along. Maybe next year if the scheduling works out differently I can keep going to the bitter end
