Any instance mechanics you particularly enjoy?

In the throws of writing a D&D homebrew campaign and have plenty of dungeons to flesh out for my party. Any puzzles, instance/ raid mechanics, or level designs* from LOTRO you particularly enjoy that I can revisit for inspiration? I believe I've played through all of the LOTRO content at least once**, usually more-- but in some cases it's been years and years so I appreciate the reminder.

*When I say level design, I should clarify I mean dungeon-specific. I have all of the main towns and cities planned out. Mostly just looking for combat encounter-related inspiration.
**Have not completed Abyss of Mordath

A few I've already planned to use include:

The three-lane gauntlet from the beginning of OD Wound and Fear

Pretty much every mini-boss and boss mechanic from Dar Narbugud

    Inn of the Forsaken-esque puzzles

    Barad Guldur opening gauntlet

I thought about Mirror Halls of Lumul Nar and while I may use that kind of mechanic for one single room of a dungeon, I think an entire dungeon based on repositioning mirrors is a bit much-- such was my perception of my own experience with that instance in-game, and the general vibe I get from the LOTRO community about that instance too. I feel similarly about the Grand Stair.

Thinking back on the time you've spent dungeon-crawling in-game, what have been some of your favorite challenges?

    Thank you!

I like Dungeons of Dol Guldur. Trying to sleep the guards while others are escorting prisoners out is a fun challenge of synchronization.

Some 'mechanics' will be difficult to realize in a D&D homebrew campaing. Neverheless:

Inn of the Forsaken: combination of riddles for progress, mechanics to battle enemies effectively, traps, different capabilities of different classes, the NPC joining the group temporarily is a possessed bad guy in reality.
Fil Gashan: avoid alarms by guards, the cook, final boss fight
Dungeons of Dol Guldur: (reason as mentioned by Vilan)
Tower of Orthanc: every boss fight, especially Saruman with the differently coloured rings and the special skills bestowed to the one using them
Ost Dunhoth: Every boss fight, especially The Mammuth race in the wound wing (group progress depends on other group opening the doors), Gortheron (different combat phases), Ivar / Matumáth / Matúrz-olog / Narslaug and Dúngorth - different mobs with different special abilities

    Kind regards

I really liked the last boss in Dungeons of Naerband. I thought the random ports and insane damage made it a good instance to theory craft creative tactics to defeat it.

The raid with the superior mechanics was OD by far.
Can`t decide if i like Balrog or Ivar \ Gortheron the best tho. All of them had mechanics i really liked.

Also the LT in BG was good when you had very low in combat power regen. Finally a fight where you had to adjust and think about your power pool.

I really enjoy using siege weapons in the epic battles. It's so satisfying when you fire a catapult or ballista and see that "-5 commander enemies" text.
