See. the que really makes me struggle if I shouldn't just kiss the $15 good bye and uninstall... but I am thinking that is their plan.

It does seem very random. I have 3 VIP accounts, and have been experimenting with one of them (the one that was in the 900's when I first logged in).

Re-logging on this one bounces around as others have said - been in the 2000's and down to 600's (been testing it repeatedly).

The sad thing is when I logged in right when the server opened - my positions on the first 2 accounts are 236 and 304. Obviously these must be stuck in limbo, since people are getting in and these numbers haven't moved. It's just hard to close the launcher on these two (*sob*).

So I am going to keep relogging on the third one - maybe I can get in eventually! Really just trying to grab a couple of names for my daughter (I want some too but no biggie if I don't get them), but I have already told her about launch days, and that I might not get them O.o

    Lightbulb

The que system and numbers clearly can not be trusted. Neither to show correct numbers, nor acctually put You in a que to get in. You could sit there for days and wait and nothing will happen.

On 2 machines side by side trying. One currently got 2850, the other 437, sometimes higher sometimes lower after each relog attempt. Totally random it seems. 4 times in a row same number exactly etc, then suddebly chnaging again up and down all over the place.

    lol

Still fun to test and inform people. At least it's giving me some joy doing that

My number is generally trending downward every time I relog.

My theory is that it takes some time to "notice" when you close the launcher, if it doesn't notice before you relog, you get your old queue position, which may have advanced slightly.

I was #409 when I logged in seconds after the server came up, and for the next half hour; after I started relogging I've since gone from 1800 down to around 300.

Relaunched both my accounts several times now. One has finally got in The other... well, not so much.

And yet, the launcher never actually launches the game (apparently) even when you (invisibly) reach the end of the queue (which isn't updated in any way visible to the user). So. . . how exactly will not relaunching work?

    I've been trying various things:

    - started at 812 and waited about 20 minutes
    - began logging out then logging back in immediately, bounced me around back and forth between around 1700-2200; tried this about a dozen times
    - have been trying Hurin's approach and waiting several minutes 3-5), which overall HAS caused me to get lower queue numbers, at least MOST of the time but not always (for example was just at 710, waited about four minutes, now 795). Have done this probably two dozen times so far.

I don't mind waiting if I understand why I'm waiting and what's going on. So the utter lack of feedback on this is really not cool. SSG folks you need to say SOMETHING, even if the answer is you don't know what's going on. That's just a really bad customer service decision on your part.

At the same time, I see Vastin was able to post a response to something completely unrelated to the new server launch about 30 minutes ago.

Anyway, I'll keep trying different things, and if it doesn't work in about half an hour I'll give up on it.

Another possibility is that if you reach the front of the queue, and don't relog within a certain window, it gives up on you, and you go to the back of the line next time...

I tried waiting in what I thought was a Queue (position 33!) for half an hour. Gave up and went for more coffee, spoke with my sis on the phone . . .

Came back just now and tried to login about 3 times in a row and got lucky the third time in!

Grateful I managed to keep my names.

Relogging didn't help me, but then, I didn't sit there repetitively retrying it. I will see now.

Well, after almost an hour and 20 minutes waiting in the "queue" at 165, I'm going to the re-logging approach.

What could they say that would matter to you? About the only thing they could say is that whether you wait or you relog, we can't know how long you'll have to wait, since there are two dynamic events happening. The queue number may be a hash of the UNIX date-time and your account status; and as such, appears to increment as others ahead of you get in and others try to log in. As the day rolls toward US prime time, how many people do you think are initially logging and how many are relogging?

Update: I tried to log onto a regular server. Even that is taking more time than usual, even without getting a queue number. So, it seems that the logon servers are heavily loaded at the moment.

Finally got in, name gone. 90 minutes after I was #409 in the initial queue.

I got in after opening like 50 concurrent launchers and logging in over and over. Names status = mostly already taken. Killing me here, reeee.
