Best Duo Partner and spec for Hunter?

After more then 10 years we started playing LOTRO again (so everything feels new again ).
We both started with a hunter, but I'm not really enjoying it and since i've read hunters are not really wanted endgame I'm trying to figure out what else I could play.

I'm pretty much open to anything (although I don't like having to stand still while casting, so a blue hunter was my first idea).

I would like to have some sort of AoE (since hunter lacks that, if i understood right).
Somesort of survivability would be appreciated (like selfhealing).
Mainly instant spells or abilities.

So what class would make a strong duo with a hunter? And what is the prefered color/spec for hunters to level in?
