On Easter, April 17th, the Crickhollow Roving Threats Group is holding the First Annual Gundabad Easter Geode Hunt! We will be sending regular messages in /world and /LFF. Simply join up any time between 1:00 PM and 4:00 PM /servertime, and hunt geodes for 20 minutes. You keep everything you find, PLUS we'll be giving out a prize pool of over 1200 Gold and a choice of five Easter rabbit pets to the five people who collect the most valuable geodes!
You must be in a raid with the scorekeepers. We will be posting in world occasionally for you to find us.
You may reattempt as many times as you'd like throughout the event time. However, we ask that you only do so on a single toon.
Your time begins with your first geode loot. This process is automatically handled via the referee plugin. This plugin is NOT necessary for participants but will be available on the discord for transparency.
If I wasn't offered Double-Time +$2/hr to work Easter...this sounds like so much fun! Y'all are doing a fan-tastic job coming up with these neat events!!
Hello everyone! Day 1 of the Geode Hunt is finally here - starting at 3 PM /servertime (US Eastern) - and I'm so excited!
I've gotten a few questions in various media that I'd like to quickly address:
This event is only running on Crickhollow, and I don't see it moving to other servers in the future.
There is a prerequisite quest to join the event: Geode Hunter, from Brathi at the Steepset. It's quick and easy, available to characters 127+ who own Gundabad. Therefore, the event is only open to characters 127+.
You may work in teams during the event, but keep in mind that scores are compiled per individual, so a team cannot directly increase your score. However, escorting each other to get geodes is allowed.
I've put together an online spreadsheet (available here on Google Sheets) that should have everything you need to know about the event - it has the prerequisites, rules, scoring info, leaderboard, and prizes all in one place. Check it out during the event to know where you stand. Both days are scored as the same event, but ties are awarded to the first player to reach the score they're tied at, so the sooner you compete, the better!
The following prizes are available, and will be finalized and awarded after 4PM /servertime tomorrow: (Prizes that involve the winner's choice will require a response via mail and so will be dispensed later)
1st Place: 100 LP, "Event Winner" title, 500 Gold, plus a choice of 5 rabbit pets or 100 more Gold
2nd Place: 100 LP, "Event Winner" title, 250 Gold, plus a choice of 4 rabbit pets or 50 more Gold
3rd Place: 100 LP, "Event Winner" title, 150 Gold, plus a choice of 3 rabbit pets or 30 more Gold
4th Place: 100 LP, "Event Winner" title, 100 Gold, plus a choice of 2 rabbit pets or 20 more Gold
5th Place: 100 LP, "Event Winner" title, 50 Gold, plus a choice of a rabbit pet or 10 more Gold
6th through 20th Places: 100 LP and "Performer of Note" title
That's all for now. Hope to see you this afternoon!
Thanks to those who participated today for a wonderful first day of the Geode Hunt! We had eight competitors come by, and several put some really strong scores on the board. Here's where the leaderboard stands after today's session:
455 pts: Throwan
420 pts: Starr
398 pts: Ithvild
274 pts: Patti
232 pts: Bayliffson
218 pts: Dagrinch
127 pts: Anthonymantha
106 pts: Bravebear
Keep in mind that there's still tons of time tomorrow to shake up the rankings, whether you're a new competitor looking to show what you've got, or a returning player seeking to move up a place or two!
Finally, here's a few pictures of our competitors with the referees today:
Today was a lot of fun! I'm so excited to see what tomorrow has to offer. See you then, geode hunters!
The Easter Geode Hunt has come to a close. It was a real knock-down-drag-out fight for the top five spaces! Congratulations to the five who made it, and to all the rest, who gave it their all.
Thanks so much to everyone who played, and to Lithgwen and Starr/Jaocynthe for their help organizing the event, and of course to Cordovan for his generosity! We hope to run this again next Easter -- see you then!!
