Are lootboxes temporary? My lootboxes disappeared.

I had some lootboxes in my storage, from a while back. Recently I hit 30 on my LM and got a ton of lootboxes, so I put them in my shared storage. Today all my lootboxes are missing. So are they temporary now? Why did my old lootboxes from early leveling stay till now? Why are they gone along with my new lootboxes?
I don't really mind as apparently they are now very easy to obtain, but the wiki says nothing about this. I couldn't find any information about it.

Delving reward boxes have a 1 hour decay timer, but I've never heard of the lootboxes decaying.
