Haha, all lessons learned here! It wasn't that bad, ONLY because of the extra goodies I got along with the collector's edition. I'll post something else if all issues are solved![]()

ALL Mines of Moria boxes were produced back in 2008 (or possibly in the early part of 2009 for some). Some seven years ago. Whatever code you installed from the CDs would be that old.
There are still a few unopened boxes around with working keys, but they are becoming rarer and rarer.
A Collector's Edition with a working key is a lucky find. Although.... with all the trouble you have had with this one you might not feel so lucky right now.![]()
I think it worked (from talking with customer service) It just installed the really old launcher/server. When it reinstalls, I guess I'll see if it really did work. Fingers crossed.
I managed to get an amazing, factory-sealed Collector's Edition for 15 bucks.
To me the OPs issue of not having a box in the account panel to enter the code sounds like the same problem many people had entering TP codes for the stress test betas last year.

It was a problem with Turbine's account page not showing the box to enter the code. I know for me, I just had to wait till they corrected whatever the problem was. Others had success going to the account page from a different browser.
When you called customer support, did they apply the Moria code onto your account for you?
Edited to add: That's how I got my Moria collector's edition too, found it on Amazon for about the same you paid for it and was very happy to find that the key worked for me.Love having the soundtrack CD too.

Different problem I think. In this case it sounds like he could enter the code just fine, but then was asked to choose a payment option for a subscription. (Back when Mines of Moria was made a subscription was needed to play the game.)
Looking through old threads from a few years ago on that subject (using MoM keys) the solution back then was to choose "Game Time Card" as the payment option and then choose "Enter card later" when prompted for the Time Card code. Things may or may not have changed since then.
First of all, I'm a she, HAHA!
I'm not sure if it's resolved yet, but yep, you're right in saying that the issue is that I was being prompted for a subscription. I wasn't given my allotted free VIP. I think it's been fixed, but don't know yet, because game hasn't reinstalled yet. Grr. Game-Time card so far hasn't had anything to do with it. I'm just waiting to see.

Just wanted to confirm something.
You have started a new account for the "Mines of Moria". You have an existing f2p account.
Only login in to the game, forums and lotro account with your f2p account once you have the clean install done. Any additional CD-Keys should be applied to this original account.
Applying the CD-key to your existing account will mean the characters you have been playing this year will have access to Moria quests etc and extra goodies like extra slots and classes. But it may be that account support will have to make the final changes to your account (old). Just don't get it applied to this new account.
With the exception of the Mithril Edition. The ME can be safely installed via disks and updated simply by opening the launcher and letting it do its thing. And if you have a data cap or a very slow internet connection, using the ME disks can cut down on a lot of download time.
On my internet speed, it would take 3 days to download LOTRO from scratch. The disks save me a lot of hassle and work fine.
Also, for the OP, when at myaccount.turbine.com make sure you aren't confusing "subscription" with "VIP". Usually people use the two terms interchangeably, but subscription can also be interchangeable with account.
And contrary to Yula's advice... I wouldn't destroy the disks. I mean... it is the collector's edition, right? That is worth some shelf-space, IMO. I still have a boxed set for Star Wars Galaxies. xD

If anything, get with support on the phone and they'll be able to combine the accounts if you've accidentally made two, and will make sure the proper account has all the keys necessary.
If you give away gold bars, someone will complain they're too heavy.

Might as well face it, I'm addicted to WDN
I bought the same boxed set back in 2010 or so. When I login (which hasn't happened in a while...) I have to choose between two accounts as well. It never affected anything, my original account had MoM on it, but I never played the other account enough to bother checking if it had the expansion too. The problem she is referring to is probably related to the free trial VIP wanting a credit card on file so it can continue to charge monthly after the free trial is up. I remember getting irritated because the account management screen didn't tell you that's what it wanted, just made you pick a payment plan and then afterwards said the first month wouldn't get billed until a month later. So how's the game here lately anyways? Haven't really played in a couple of years. Came to the forum to probe about how the game was doing and figured I'd login and offer some old school insight.
Just another data point.
like a previous poster, I bought a Mines of Moria pack that included Mines of Moria expansion plus 30 days VIP. I tried applying it to an existing f2p account's subscription, but the key created another VIP subscription on the same account. I called customer support, who moved the VIP to the main subscription (She couldn't remove the extra subscription created by the MoM key however). And all is well. There was just an extra subscription selection page on the launcher I have to go through each time I log on.
So, if things look bad, call them![]()
Sorry it took so long for a reply! Haven't been able to log into my account here :/
Had to call customer service and they sorted it all out, even though I have 2 separate accounts now. (Grr)
Game is AWESOME and I am so glad I bought the Collector's edition.
They accidentally included an EXTRA RINGSo I gave one to my brother. I got the map framed (looks awesome) and will be hanging Hadhafang above it as soon as it arrives. CD is also beautiful.
Thanks for all the help! Y'all are awesome.
