Ahem. From the patch notes:
--W. H. HeydtMisc
A certain door in Bree no longer requires level 90 to enter.
Old Used Programmer
The door was introduced in Update 6 with no advertisement of it.
The door description was added to the Release Notes in Update 7 when the Deed was released.
The 6th bag was advertised in Update 7 but not released.
The 6th bag is not going Live until a later date.
You're making my point for me, glad you agree...
Reconadan 90 Hunter/R7 ::: Reconamir 75 Captain/R4 ::: Reconien 75 Champion/R6
Reconi 75 LoreMaster/R7 ::: Elavyan 75 Minstrel/R4 :::Reconorin 75 Guardian
Westfold/Kindred::: Tinker/Armourer/Historian/Explorer/Woodsman
He was called out earlier by a CM for spewing bad information about expansion changes that he totally made up, then told his name was illegal, and he's obviously angry and acting out now.
Anyway, 6th bag is long overdue. Glad to see it's coming. Would rather it had been part of this update, but even with the Xpac is better than 5 bags.

Or maybe the prepurchase will be available before update 8 and you get the bag right away with prepurchase, so the UI element has to be added now for players to be able to use it...
Not everything has to be sleazily marketing-driven. Sure, it's a tease aswell, but they have to give some kind of note when they change UI to indicate a function that's still not available for some time.
The doors were sort of enough of a tease on their own, seeing as it was immediately clear that you couldn't pass them currently (as they were level 90). a UI for a sixth bag does not in itself indicate that it's not actually available yet.
If the doors were "enough on their own" why wouldn't the addition of the 6th bag with a tooltip that said available at a later date on the UI be enough on it's own?
It seems quite obvious to me that the 6th bag was added for the express purpose of moving quickly past Update 7 and create buzz for their next expansion. Judging from what I've seen firsthand and read about Update 7, I can't say as I blame them...

They do this "Pre-Purchase" because it prevents people from using their Turbine Points to buy the expansion. Normal games give something like that with the expansion, not as a "pre-purchase". Its the "fine print" that they didn't tell anyone about before they started their f2p... back when they would say things like you could use the monthly points to buy the expansions, which was not totally true. They just left out the details.

Are we playing the same game or do you have some magic Ui that makes the store intrusions disappear
It's that time of the year again, xpac time! Of course it is all about marketing and vague promises, open for multiple interpretations. Time for the trolls and the Turbine lovers to be ready at the keyboard!
O and what I learned from the previous xpac? No preorder for me, not even if they offer 10 additional bags....

"Turbine, we want more storage!"
Bag six in works:
"Turbine, we don't want to pay for it!"
"I don't like pre-orders. Sell it Nao in the store!"
"The store is evil! How do I get the bag without using the store if I don't pre-order?"
"Bag is clearly an advantage. They LIED! NO ADVANTAGE IN THE STORE!"
"I'm still waiting for 'x' and they make a BAG? *scoff*"
"Bag = Bug. Fix old bugs first."
"Bag is confusing. Clarify bag or die."
"They confuse us intentionally because they're greedy. Confusion = money!"
"I bet they're lying about the confusion. They lie and lie and lie"
Taking a look waayyyyy back into the horses mouth (notice I didn't say gift because it's not free) is en vouge these days...
They gave us another bag! We asked for it and they did it! No one is happy about this? Are we all insane? I don't care if I have to send them blood and $500, I want dat bag!!!!

Just an FYI, threads that have become little more than members arguing pointlessly about things other than the topic get closed.
Sapience please get Turbine to change their mind with Bag six, and have it made part of RoR, not just pre-order.
I have been VIP for years shelling out $9.99 a month. I love the game but it's unfair to make me have to pay for it.

I'm just going to restate what I've already said. We'll have more details about the extra bag soon. Beyond that I'm only going to say that some of you have hit it quite firmly on the head.
And now I'll try to help recycle some tinfoill. The current UI slot for the bag was.... a boo boo. Yep. Sorry guys it's not a nefarious plot or evil scheme it was an honest to goodness error. We first caught it literally as it was about to go live on Bullroarer. We had two options; revert everything, delay the update a good week with no other work being done other than reverting the UI, or...stick a tooltip on it that stated what it was for. We went with option 2. And since we knew that a tooltip like that was going to open up a lot of questions, we decided to clarify it in the release notes.
Also, as for the level 90 doors. We had intended to make 0 content interiors in those locations. It was bugged when we went live and so level 90 restrictions were placed on them. Again, easy and quicker than ripping them back out. Instead of just fixing them for the next release, the person responsible thought players would like a fun little quest instead of just interesting, content-less, interiors. So there was never anything to promote. It was a little bit of spontaneous bonus content thrown in for fun.
not sure what all the hoo ha is about but meh *shrugs*
Thank you for the 6th bag! Cant wait to get it and as a collector of all things lotro ill be pre ordering, always have always will!
Fanboy and proud of it!!![]()
Inside every old person is a young person wondering what just happened
And a hearty THANK YOU to the person responsible. That little quest chain is the most non-killing fun I've had in a while in the game. And the music in the Staddle home is a delight.
Turtles! Turtles!
I have something new to chuckle about. Bravo!
Cheers,

So it takes youre entire dev team "a week" to fix a simple UI problem? Wow.
Honestly, I would have rather had it delayed until the end of May so all the new bugs that have popped up with Update 7 could be fixed as well.
Not sure what the rush was to have it out this week.
Your comment, petty as it is, would be more worthwhile were you to demonstrate any actual knowledge of how software development works. Fixing the issue wouldn't be the time sink. Regression testing on all the code added to the game since the UI issue was introduced is the issue. If they go back and knock a brick out of the foundation, they then have to spend time confirming that the rest of the structure remains sound. Yes, even when that brick doesn't seem to be doing much other than sitting there.
But hey, picking apart what "authority figures" say and parsing their words as uncharitably as possible is what the internet is for. . . apparently. So knock yourself out.

Perhaps you didn't read the rest of my post? As I stated I am not sure what the rush was to get it out this week. But, I don't green-light the releases, so I can't really answer that.
And, as for my "actual knowledge of software development", while I may not be creating MMO's, I am proficient with PHP, MySQL, HTML, CSS, dBase, C++, Visual Basic and ASP just to name a few...and have even coded in Pascal and Assembly in my time. Does that qualify?

Well, that's worse then. Shame on you for saying what you did even though you should know better.
The rest of your post was irrelevant to your snarky 'So it takes youre entire dev team "a week" to fix a simple UI problem? Wow.' remark.Perhaps you didn't read the rest of my post?
Indeed, not just irrelevant, but somewhat at odds with what you then went on to say. It would seem you want to have it both ways. You want to question how slowly/inefficiently they're working while also questioning whether they released the update too quickly/prematurely.
Nice!
