    Re: The Riddle-Game

    Here's another one to ponder:

From Ash to Shadow I stretch my length,
From Tooth to Tooth I span.
Tall and forbidding, secure in my strength,
    Black as obsidian sand.
    Desolation lying before me,
    Doom looming far behind,
Beyond me the soldiers of war be,
I stand, being deaf, dumb, and blind.

Morannon! The Black Gate of Mordor, whatever you call it, it fits the whole thing! I like the riddle, gj! As for the answer to my riddle, you're very close, but the answer is a bit more general. For me, "Tooth to Tooth" just clicked in my mind. I love that discription of it in the books. And I play Battle for Middle-Earth II: Rise of the Witch-King a lot, and Mordor's Towers look just like teeth, especially at the black gate.
And your new signature is so true, so very true....

Oh, and tla, you're just jealous that I got Elvyen's riddle right and you didn't. Nice riddle about the map, was interesting.

PS, does anybody else here have BFME II? I'll play them online, meheheh. And if you don't, you should try it, it's my favourite RTS game out there.

The Morannon it is. Excellent riddle-detecting. I'll have to try harder next time.

    Re: The Riddle-Game

I know what I'll do! For the riddle that theoneringer posted, I'll just ask the author of the riddle what the answer is! Bwahahaha! Since he's already told theoneringer the answer to the riddle, he'll probably tell me as well... maybe... Could the answer be time? *lastalliance snickers evilly for reasons only theoneringer would understand.*

And yes, I am jealous. But you have to admit, Elvyen himself said that that one line didn't fit lotro. Plus, my guesses and Elvyen's clue must have helped you just a LITTLE bit when you were trying to figure out the riddle.

    Re: The Riddle-Game

Dont know if anybody had done one like this cause i didnt bother to read all 25 pages of riddles:
sorry made it off the top of my head the last parts dont rhyme T.T

    A fallen star am I
In the shadows i do lye
My lance as cold as ice
My shield defended me till the last slice
    who am i?

This might be a bit hard cause its kinda confusing but if youve been readin lore pages it shouldl be no prob

    Heres an easier one

    Endless flame and endless heat
I nearly burnt little hobbit feet
I Raise above a land so black
    Power here was taken back
    Closely watched am I
by a large forbodeing lidless eye
    What am I?

Oh and i love the riddles so far hope you guys can figure outt mine

    Heres another

    Deathless Life
    Endless Strife
    Flesh Clinging
    Death Bringing
    What am I?

    and another

    twisted root and mangled vine
my battle skills are not exceptionally fine
tall as a man yet sturdy as a dwarf
with thickend bark as strong as a wharf

    Re: The Riddle-Game

the third one could be an elf under the oath of Feanor. The fourth one makes me think of an ent, but ents are strong in battle as well as being about 14 feet tall; not as tall as a man. Still thinking about the first and fourth...

    Re: The Riddle-Game

The first one could be Feanor... although I doubt it. It could also be Gil-Galad. But through my understanding, Gil-Galad didn't use his shield in battle, he had someone keep it for him and only had it because it was cool. His name means star of radiance, which explains the star part. Although he was not slain by a sword. Sauron grabbed him by the neck and engulfed him in flames. He burned to ashes. However Aeglos is sindarin for "Snow-bite" which could explain the "cold as ice" part.

both wrong and the last one actually comes in varied sizes yet average is as tall as a man

Is the answer to last one the Woses (spelling?) of the woods, such as Ghan-buri-ghan that assisted King Theoden in getting around the blocked road to be able to get to the battle of the Pellenor fields?

No, your clues didn't help, I read the riddle and thought it was Lotr, until I reached the last line, and then added an "o" to the end of my guess. And I thought it fit pretty well, I knew what it was right away, so it didn't matter.

I don't think it's right... but the third one could be one of the oathbreakers.

Huorn? Though not quite sure how tall they are supposed to be and it could be argued that they are skilled in battle.

[EDIT] just saw that someone else already guessed the same as I

    Serving no one,
    Imprisoned here.
My army loaded like a gun,
    Bringing fear.
    I will not stop,

@ 3029929 - just to point out an inaccuracy in your riddle, (because that's my job) "flesh clinging" doesn't describe barrow wights. Barrow wights are spirits or shades, some of them reanimate bones, but there isn't anything fleshful about them. I really liked all of your riddles, though! Keep them coming! I suppose I give up on your fourth riddle... you can tell us the answer and then I'll point out all of your (if any) inaccuracies.
