Its actually both. In Korea, appliances are so advanced that they now have multiple functions that normal would not be found in a single unit. In this case, the appliance in question is called a Microwasherwave (마이쿠로와셔왜브). It'll be all the rage in small apartments and studios in the States (and beyond!) come next year.

Umm, I really don't remember actually . I think it had something to do with being bored while waiting for the rain to pass. Nothing worse than going to beach and have it start raining the second you get there

I say this kind of behavior needs to be encouraged.

True story: I lived in the Middle East for a little while and when an unaccompanied female walks down just about any street - at least in the cities where I stayed - pretty much every man on the street thinks it is his duty and obligation to shout something like, "Hey, beautiful," and then sometimes something rude too.

At first, I didn't like this. I thought, "Ah, you evil people, objectifying me and trying to make me feel uncomfortable whenever I walk down the street."

Then I came home to the States and, ever since then, I think, "Ah, you American boys, why is it so hard to get several hundred of you to tell me that I'm beautiful every day? I miss it!"

Fallarden, you are the best. Please keep on doing what you are doing. It is a public service, and if we are lucky, it will catch on.

haha. I do go to the beach in the rain all the time. But sometimes im with people that for SOME reason don't want to get wet walking to the beach but dont care about getting wet in the water. *sigh* =P

That's what I liked best about it - I'd be walking down the street getting catcalled, then I'd turn around and there'd be some middle-aged, out-of-shape, not-put-together lady following behind me getting the same treatment. Kind of warmed my heart. It doesn't matter if the compliment is true or not; it's still nice to hear.

Plus, catcalling is different than actually coming on to a person. For a while, as an experiment, whenever I got catcalled I'd try to start a conversation with the person who catcalled me. Not one guy ever looked happy about being approached. I concluded that wasn't the goal of the catcallers; they were after something else.

I don't really agree with this. If every guy told me I was the most wonderful woman in the world and that he loves me and only me and other women that too, then yes it would be worthless. But telling someone they are beautiful doesn't negate itself if you tell another person as well. I happen to find several women and several men attractive and I will tell them that, because I think it's important to say nice things to people and to appreciate beauty. It doesn't mean I want to f*** them or that every guy compliments a girl because he is trying to jump in the sack with her.

Men rarely compliment women anymore because of this misconception that it is sexual harassment or an attempt to sleep with them- especially in America. We are so wrapped up in being PC we can barely appreciate anything other than fine silver in the china cabinet.

Not that I'm one to catcall, I have more respect for myself then to go as low as having to do that...

The randomness to try and compliment everyone you see is a little bit silly...you earn compliments...another way the world is trying to sugar coat everything I suppose :P The average person needs self assurance these days from EVERYONE else otherwise they might feel bad about themself...lord help us!
