I like that there are more girl gamers...especially when you're in vent. When I first started playing online games (back around the jarassic period), if I got on vent it was a nightmare. There was always that group of guys that assumed you were there to cyber...other guys thought you were a guy using a voice simulator (cause there aren't any girls on the interwebz) so they didn't step in to help....it was horrible.

Now, I can have some fun...be a little flirty and banter with my mates while totally drunk on a Friday night and not have to worry about that type of horror. We moderate each other...make sure things don't get out of hand...we're friends. I love it!

I'm a college student and I tried convincing my dad to let me try LOTRO back when it first came out when I was in high school. he said no and a few months ago confessed he had secretly tried this game and loved it. So now we play together as a father-daughter tag team. It keeps us close in a semi-nerdy way, but I love it. Only downside is I get random invites from weirdos, I wish they'd just leave me alone so I can kill things!! Oh and hunter class is my favorite!!

I just wanted to say that you Girl Gamers are the best thing since sliced bread.

My daughter is a h4rd-c0r3 Gamer Grrl and has been since age 7. She's been here in LOTRO since April 2007 and she'll probably be here when they flip the switch on the Servers. It was inevitable though considering her mother was a Gamer Grrl, even if she turned into a "Wet Blanket" (as my daughter puts it) after our daughter was born.

Although my current S.O. isn't a Gamer Grrl, my daughter and I are trying to convert her.

However, the three of us LOL'd last night when we were watching some Reality Show that had a Gamer Grrl who met her BF on WoW and discovered he was cheating on her with a LARPer Gamer Grrl. It was totally funny watching them cat-fight over this WoW/LARPer d00d who didn't even have a job! However, it was hysterical watching some irl PvP Action. It actually pulled me away from LOTRO for a few minutes.



So true...but we all <3 Gamer Grrls because of that.

Thank you each and every one of you for being who you are. Elendilmir wouldn't be what it is today if it weren't for all you Die-Hard Gamer Grrls.

FYI, the Gamer Girl in that Pic is actually color-blind in the Blue-Green spectrum, it's apparently common for redheads. She must have thought those were Green Wings and Green & Gold Bra. So don't be harshin' on the color-blind. It wasn't her fault she was born that way. (And I'm not making this up. She really is color-blind in the Blue-Green spectrum!)

Let's see I've been playing Online RPGs since 2000 when I was sucked into Asheron's Call. I played that for YEARS! Eventually meeting Pureevil and following him into closed beta for lotro, after which I never went back. I just recently returned from a 6 month break and I have to say that my favorite class of all time is the loremaster, second is the champ. I'm 27, live in California. I'm a single mother of a 5 year old little girl. I'm happy to be back in game after such a long break!

In our defense we're caught between three different conflicting thoughts.

Not really. The guys I play with treat us ladies as equals, they do not cater to us. My kin also has 5 other couples so it's nice not being the only raiding female in the kin.

lol, yeah. I get called "man, dude, and bro" a lot. When I tell them I'm a girl, I get one of 2 reactions, usually; they're either embarrassed and apologize and move along or they immediately start making stupid, flirty comments that make me roll my eyes and ask if I have a mic. NOT YOURS.

I usually get asked what I do for a living (apparently no one cares until it's known you're female). When I say I'm a physicist then it goes from flirty to competitive LOL.

On my kin back on another server, I am the only female and no one censors themself. They pretty much treat me like a little brother and that's fine by me. I just hate when I'm in a moors raid or something and as soon as someone hears me talk all conversation is halted. >.<

I have found about the same as y'all have. I really like that I'm not treated different just because I'm female vent/in game chat I have found..... interesting as well For some reason people think I have an accent and I like the bonus of hearing the Aussies talk
