Technically it's my turn now, but I just haven't had the chance to write one lately.
Suppose I pass it to Piankhi, since he was so close to the answer![]()

All right, fine. Here is the best I could come up since I'm horrible at making riddles. It will probably be easy for all of you experts.
Born in Budgeford,
left behind in Buckland,
sister of Fatty.
If I may, Estella Bolger?![]()

Nice. Let's see what I can come up with...
By elven King of golden hair,
A tribute to a mighty lair
Was built beside the river great,
The Pools at Ivrin did create.
The maddened son of cursed Lord,
Brought low these caves, opened their hoard.
No treachery, or fool's mistake;
A simple bridge brought forth the Snake.

Haha good to be back. My game account has actually been up and down lately, but I was happy to discover that you're no longer blacklisted from the forums if you don't have an active account.
Anyway yes, it is your turn Aleczander - but feel free to pass it to someone else...

Sounds to me like the destruction of the two trees in The Darkening of Valinor,
and the horrible blackness left behind in Ungoliant's "wake".
Though the light of the two trees was not completely destroyed. (Galathilion, Silmarils, The Moon/Sun)

Wow I actually found time to put one together.
Let's see if it lasts longer than an hour up against you all.
A prized companion of the King,
Whom in my presence no crown wore.
Til’ his breath was stolen by a ring
And the dreadful fury of its Lord.
For my beauty, kings would forsake their crowns
For I, alone, would weigh upon their minds
From an ancient queen of great renown
Came I, through long years lost to time

Right you are!
Elendil wore the Elendilmir on his forehead in place of a crown, until his defeat at the war of the Last Alliance, and then by Isilidur until his death; when it was lost in the Anduin.
His heirs wore a replica of it, again in place of a crown, including Aragorn at Pelennor.
The line about the queen was maybe a bit of a stretch, as it's original owner, Silmarien, wasn't technically the queen, but a daughter of the King of Númenor. (though she would have been Queen if the laws were different)
You're up Pillagem.

High on his throne of treasure and jewels,
Terror and avarice the Golden One rules
With his tenfold shields and swords and spears
Hurricane and thunderbolt for so many years.
By song to not-song they ended his wrath
His secret was out and he drowned in his bath.
His legacy brought them together at last
To pay their respects, to gather their past.
His neighbors and elves and more visitors' friends,
Some goblins and orcs came, the throne to defend.
So many more I'd not wish to leave out
Grand lives make grand exits, without a doubt.
Boy, it must have been about a year since I've logged on here... cool to see the riddle thread still going.
(hey Elvyen, what's up?)
That last one sounds like Glaurung to me, or at least it has something to do with Nargothrond.
