Re: ALES & TALES (every Monday!)

Latest details. There are 3 ways to get to the Grotto:

    1) Hoof it yourself
    2) Hunter port from Michel Delving or West Bree
    3) Convoy from Oatbarton

We will hold Nibbles and Nobs in Oatbarton, then convoy from there as a group to the Blue Lady's Grotto. Here's the approximate schedule:

9:30: Nibbles and Nobs at Oatbarton
    10:20: Convoy leaves from Oatbarton
10:30: Hunter ports leave from West Bree and Michel Delving
    10:40: Ales and Tales begins

Convoys across the landscape can be a lot of fun. Use /alesandtales to keep in touch with the event details as they are rolling out. Leanndra will be organizing the Oatbarton convoy.

This week's A&T looks like so much fun! Despite playing the game for 3 years, I've never actually been to the Blue Lady's Grotto *blushes*

But I'm going to be out of town on business And the laptop I'm taking with me doesn't support LotRO (due to it being a tiny little netbook with very little *umpf*).

Have fun you guys, and hopefully I'll see you all next week!!

The Blue Lady's Grotto is one o' my favorite places in the world.... not that I been there myself o' course *ahem* respectable Hobbits don't go traipsin' about in no foreign grottos. But I ah... read about.

So I'm thrilled to go see it an' walk 'round with my own feets, even if I don't think folks should be tramplin' about in there!

But, it's gonna take longer than 20 minutes to get to there from Oatbarton... especially with them robbers an' other no good types comin' after wee lasses.

We have a few members of LMB who have stepped forward to provide "Forward Outrunners & Flankers" as security for the Walk. I will also be making an announcement Prior to the departure asking any brave souls willing to see the Convoy make it to its destination to happily do as as well. In the past, there have been many who have generously walked ahead and cleared the route and that is always appreciated.

"SHOULD" there be anyone who gets jumped by a beast or brute and falls, please remain where you are and don't release.. IF we have the ability, we will revive you where you are and continue on our way. That way, you remain with the convoy and not stranded out at some distant "Circle".

As I recall, if you get defeated in a high level area there is no chance for a rez. It pops you back to wherever your milestone is. This happened when I was trying to get my level 8 hunter to Rivendell with a minstrel as escort.

    So be careful out there!

P.S. If it takes longer than 20 minutes, then we'll just have that much longer to enjoy the journey!

Thanks to everyone who made the swim last night for a great time. I have only been to a few Ales and Tales, but this one was the best by far. Nights like this one make me happy to be on Landroval. Thanks again to the LMB, and to everyone who participated. Monday nights are beginning to be my favorites!

    What a disgrace!

Shame on you Galenswerd, Harperella and Co for holding such a fine event in such a terrible place! Crikey, didn't you consider the hobbits and other wee folk at all?! *snorts* Next time why don't you hold Ales and Tales outside Carn Dum itself?!

Such a warm and welcoming event graced by like folk should not be held out in the wilds where danger lurks almost around every corner.

Would it have helped if there was a winsome dwarf-lass instead of the blue lady in that cave? The road was long and hard, but those who needed protecting were protected and all arrived safely in the end. We will not be having Ales and Tales in these out of the way locations often.

Next week should be a site you approve of, Tarnorili. We meet in Gondamon. Nibbles and Nobs may want to meet at the Hunting Lodge nearby for a change of scenery.

I didn't. I wasted a daily skirmish just so I wouldn't come late, and I didn't even come at all. I NEED MY EXPERIENCE POINTZ!
I should go do those now, and maybe later I'll go to Evendim, see how pretty it is again, and say I was there.
And I used money on 5 travelling rations that I can't even use :P

Did you miss the Nibbles and Nobs convoy from Oatbarton? That was the party I was referring to. So sorry that you couldn't make it if you tried. I know of at least one who missed the convoy and couldn't make it alone.

Don't worry, we won't start having Ales and Tales in Angmar. But the Blue Lady's Grotto is a very special place and worth visiting at least once.

Im concerned for the Blue Lady. She doesnt look well at all. And I offered her some ale to warm her bones, but she isnt very receptive. Aside from that Tinki handed out a lot of refeshments albeit with soggy clothes.

    No it would not have!

Ales and Tales should never be in out of the way locations!! Haven't you noticed? There's talk of some black rider being seen in The Shire, Orcs, Highwaymen and Brigands lurk almost around every corner in Bree-land, and i won't even get started on the goblin and filthy Dourhand problems in the Blue Mountains! *mutters to himself about Dourhands...*

((It's worth noting that although Ales and Tales is a great weekly RP event, some event locations - of which this last one is a shining example - are completely lore and RP immersion breaking.))

I STILL want to know how Tinki swam all that way and yet still had perfectly dry and flavorful Pipeweed? Did you pile it all under your hat?

It makes me chuckle to to think of ya'll throwing a party in the Blue Lady's Grotto.
She is, as you touched on, pretty serious and not in the brightest of moods.

Especially after guiding Harperella on her past adventures. I can hear her exclaiming

"Harperella! I have aided you the best I can and you came out victorious! But that does not give thee leave to throw a party in my very Grotto! And tell those periain to stop smoking!"

Heh, sorry my dear Eija. But I don't think even the longshank and pasty folk at the lonely band would be taking my suggesting for anything other than it was; tongue in cheek.

Oh, i put a little something something in the mail for you at the 21st Hall too. Just a little something something it is.

A good turnout for A&T at Gondamon this evening! Although I must say that I was dismayed by the lack of turnout from Durin's Folk, especially with this being held in our own back yard, so to speak.
