Okay. So I'm giving this a go. When it fails, the world explodes, and you all need to live without chocolate for ever more, please don't blame me! I'm still in the process of setting this all up, so if you pop on and I ignore you, it isn't that I'm a horrible person (well, I am actually), but probably because I've gone to get more tea! If the settings aren't right, I'm working on it, etc! I'd love to need to not police this server, but I know I will need to.

Please don't abuse this. I've bought 100 slots, because it was cheaper, but if we end up using less/more I'll change accordingly. And if the community does NOT want or support this, or if it just doesn't work out, I'll close it as well. <3!

I'm also happy for this server to be used for PvE purposes! So feel free to use it instead of in-game, there is a different ( or will be! ) set of channels for you guys to use.

I'm keeping it simple. Use your common sense please. I love to have fun, but most of you should know where to draw the line between what is okay and what is just down right wrong.

1. Respect everyone that uses the server. No drama, no name calling, no nonsense. If someone else is talking, don't yell over them! Keep the chatter to PvP purposes when there is a raid out, so everyone can understand what is going on!

2. Only use this server if you are a CREEP in the Ettenmoors, or a FREEP in PvE areas. If you want to spy, play games, spam, cause trouble, etc, the server shall wave the ban hammer with pride.

If you'd like to register your own name and like a tribe/kin tag or something, let me know via PM or something similar and I'll try to make it happen ASAP.

I'll be staying in the vent for the opening up the server, there will be no PvP going on at that point...and lord knows creepside will need the entertainment for a couple of weeks So might as well have some conversations!

It's only a matter of time before this turns in to another E Creep Vent/TS. You know what I'm talking about, right? The voice program that enables nearly every Creep calls out any Freep they see... even if it's solo... only to have the zerg map in onto the Freep.

If we're going to build a new PvP community, we should do something a bit different. I'd like to see the new server be much more solo/small group friendly in contrast to the zergfest that is Elendilmir (and likely other servers). Open voice programs (like yours, Hell) may be well-intentioned but they will invariably lead to a zergtastic 'Moors like E is now.

I implore you to reconsider this. We have a chance to mold Riddermark PvP into something better than we have now. Let Vyxe and his cronies call out solo Freeps on E; let Riddermark be the server where a good solo'er/small group doesn't have to worry about 20 Freeps/Creeps arriving the moment he/she/they engage an opponent.

You read the part of the post where I said if I felt it had negative effects or wasn't supported by the community I'd rip it down, right? Obviously not. No one knows what sort of community we're going to have here. You should know that if we *mold* the community into something *better*, then the idea of solo call outs will exist on a smaller scale with or WITHOUT vent. People seem to forget that OOC is just as universal as vent, which always just as much ./ooc Freeps at GTA type of call outs. I discourage vent call outs for solos, but when I see them on E, most of them are in OOC, and I have to type out another sentence of ./ooc Please don't call out solos, it isn't such a great thing! You know it'll happen regardless if the community of E didn't have vent, right?

Either way, I'll just re-emphasize this.
[a] I'd like to provide both a creep and a freep vent, however I cannot financially support both, nor could I reasonably administrate both while playing separate sides.
[b]If this does start to get used, and abused, I will remove it, but shouldn't that also be everyone elses choice? If we start to get zergy, and people can't just hold their mouths shut, and we gain a negative PvMP arena, I can remove it as well.
[c] PvMP hasn't started, and I'm a wait and see sort of person, no one here can reasonably know what kind of people we're going to have here, and what kind of community will become of those people.
[d] If push comes to shove, and this doesn't work out as a vent PvMP server, I'll probably just open it up as a universal PvE server that everyone playing LoTRO can use if they don't have their own vent or something.
[e] I don't want drama. I've had about all I can take of it and is one of the key reasons I wanted to re-roll on another server. Again, if the community wants and believes that this is going to ruin PvMP before it has even started, I'm hugely amused, but once we get going and find it being dodgy as sin, I'll just shift. If I need to put a cap on members per channel to prevent things I will, but I'd like to give things a go before we start painting pictures of doom and the end of the world. If for nothing else, other than the fact that I like chatting to folks.

On a side note, what would you make different about the same map, with no huge changes? I'm fairly certain it has all been done before in some way, shape or form in regards to the game, and especially in regards to PvMP. I'd love to see more small group action, and you Illy should know that I am generally always in a duo, or small group of some description. The community is what makes this happen. With a bad community, you'll get constant zergs, roflstomps, folks interrupting 1v1s for the sake of it, vent/ooc call outs, etc. At least this is my belief, that this is the way things operate. The original E, Illy before the huge explosions of drama fireworks, before transfers and numerous other things (don't take this as a bash at transfers, it isn't), most folks did not call out solos or smaller groups in OOC or in Ventrilo. With a huge influx of new people, with different ideals about PvMP, the community as a whole changed the way E is, for good or for bad is up to your attitude I suppose.

Ill said that much better than I was going to. Seeing as how the majority of us will be Brandy and E players, perhaps it's best to avoid identical set ups in how you operate.

Basically I agree and disagree with illi. I prefer small group fights and would love to see people roaming the map like that.

Lets be honest though. People roaming the map small group usually translates to ganking greenies. You may have the idea "lets gank greens at the rez then once some ranked creeps come we get a good fight" but it is still ganking greens. You SHOULD get called out for that honestly.

People will call out in ooc if they cannot do it in vent.

The people calling it out generally are going be the players getting ganked or the players that aren't getting the points/having fun. If there is an equal fight going on with small groups nobody is going call it out.

Coming from a smaller server we are not usually raided up. We have lots of solo and some small groups. Basically what it translates to is a stab fight where neither side wants to push. Creeps or freeps charge the opposition just flee's. It really is a terrible fight.

I don't think not having vent will prevent anything at all. I believe that the positives far outweigh the negatives.

Like hell said though, if it gets abused it can be taken away.
