Re: Show us your favorite cosmetic outfit

I have changed some of my outfits around since my first posts! It's hard to be satisfied with just two cosmetic slots.

    Champion:

    Minstrel:

    And my new Warden:

What is that heavy chest piece? I think it's one of the better looking heavy armor chests I've seen. I hope it's not class specific.

And I really like the look of that dress in that color. Is that olive? And the cloak goes very well with it. I don't really like how cloaks attach to the shoulders in this game, but there's not much we can do about that.

It's the Ettenmoors version of the Dragon-scale piece from Helegrod. Level 50 set in the Moors, yes class specific, but I don't think they're actually available at all anymore. I really hate when they remove things from the game, especially with unique appearances like that. You can get the Dragon-scale piece from the Champion barter in Rivendell still, but it has slightly different coloring and might not dye as well. And with the Wardrobe, you can share it among any heavy wearer, not just Champions.

Just a quick note - the character that puts a class or armour or other gated item into the wardrobe has to be able to use it. I found this out last week the sad way. It's just the one that puts it into the wardrobe that has this requirement - after that any toon that meets the armour class can use it.

This means that to put a champion moors item into the wardrobe for your guardian or captain to use, you have to have a champion with the level and rank requirement first to get the item.

Did you use any dye on that or is that just the look? From your comments, I am assuming the latter, but I wanted to make sure.

Like Gildhur said, it's the level 50 Champion Ettenmoors armour, the Threkkappi Guard, so it's not available anymore. But it has essentially the same skin as the Champion Helegrod armour, save that that set's undyeable parts are gold instead of silver. I loved the silver highlights so I made sure to grind out at least the chest and leggings (which are also from that set). It's quite sad that it's gone from the game now. (Although I do like having a relatively unique appearance now that the Cloak of the West-tower is a lot more common!)

And the dress is dyed olive, yes! Interestingly I had to dye the cloak gold in order to get that matching effect.

Re: Show us your favorite cosmetic outfit

I opened up the LOTRO store intending to get some snow-themed garb for my upcoming MM/Forochel treks, but...this is what I came out with. Not at all fitting to my original idea, and I regretted it immediately upon confirming my purchase; I'm trying to make it work. The gloves are a bit off, maybe the boots, too. I know what I want, I just don't quite have the look.

I could not agree more! Hobbits in shoes aren't really Hobbits. They're short men.

I did the exact same thing. Back in the SOA days I played in the Moors a few times with friends, just enough to get to Rank 2 and close to 3. I grabbed the chest at the time because it was good armor, and used it in later cosmetics. Then when I got into the SoM beta and found out the set was being removed, I hurried myself back to the Moors for an afternoon to round off my rank and grab the legs. Though admittedly, they look a lot better on a man than an elf-maid.

Here's hoping Turbine either re-uses the art later on, or at least adds a cosmetic version. It's a travesty to take anything out, but especially armor sets in an age of Wardrobes!

The art shows up on a few cloaks, but the main one is [armour]Golodir's Mantle[/armour].

This is the first cosmetic outfit I equipped my hunter with.

I've since switched to a Traveler's Hood for the head so we can see his handsome features (haha), but the rest hasn't changed.

I am in love with all the outfits that have been shown here. Once I figure out how to take screenshots(and get some decent cosmetics), I will definetely post my outfits here.

I believe that's made with a recipe from Lothlorien. Here's a link to check out.

Is ther anything like WoW Mageweave in Lotro? I'm just dying to see a slender elf sporting a black one-peice with long stockings and gloves.

This is my Guardian's new look. I think that right now, of all my toons, this is the coolest outfit. Beware of Ninja!Guardian Arodwyn of Trucido!!! RAWR!!!

The outfit is composed of the Burglar Watcher helm, the Warden level 50 Ettenmoors gear for chest and legs, Minstrel boots and gloves from one of the purple Moria sets, and some generic heavy crafted shoulders. I think I need to work on the shoulders, still. I was thinking of using the Minstrel Rift shoulders, but they're almost too silly and bulky for such a sleek outfit. Any suggestions?
