I am wondering about the new update making mirkwood and moria pack free. I was wondering if i get my 3500 points i spent on it back. I find it unfair that unpaying members get moria and mirkwood but i purchased it!

Welcome to the vortex...
This is only the beginning of the downward spiral into mediocrity.
Sad that in pursuit of the almighty dollar they are going to gut one of, if not THE best MMO's produced to date...
Just wait til we can play it on Facebook and on a Droid phone app.
Damn shame. This game was incredibly good right up to the day before F2P and the Turbine Store.

While they're at it, they should give you a refund every time they put something on sale. And give a refund to everyone who subscribed for the past 3 years.
Actually, I'd settle for $200 in cash and a pack of Lucky Strikes. Refund everything I say. Just, just take everything down, give me my darn money and start over, with lasers, that camel from the Conan movies, free soda, Rock Hudson's Porsche and a woll knit sweater.
I'll pay $1.00
Takers?

uhm... they aren't free, they can wander about the zone killing mobs if they so choose, but they can't pick up or do any quests or deeds that are not directly tied to the epic book. Now if all you care about is the epic book line, then by all means be mad about it.
Orladen
Ah more incorrect and bad information. Nobody is getting Moria, Lothlorien or Mirkwood. You still have to buy it. Exception - You can grind deeds - buy them with your in game points.
Free:
1) Level cap is 65 for all
2) Everybody can visit Moria, Lothlorien and Mirkwood.
3) You will be able to complete the entire Epic.
Without the Lothlorien quest pack purchase, I do not think it possible to reach Mirkwood without some effort. The border guards are probably still killing folks. That means you will have complete Volume 2 - Books 1-6 to get to the docks.
Unless stated otherwise, all content in this post is My Personal Opinion.
.
Baladin - 65 Dwarf Rune-keeper, Balabo - 65 Hobbit Burglar, Balaroc - 62 Hobbit Guardian, Baladonna - 54 Hobbit Hunter, Balagrim - 41 Dwarf Champion
Oh, and I forgot. Now someone will complain that it SHOULD be free, quests and all. Where's Anen when you need him?

This thread is a repeat of one made an hour before it. (They even have similar names!) Please consolidate by placing all replies at http://forums.lotro.com/showthread.p...Mines-of-Moria
Also, the information of the OP is incorrect and has already been dealt with in the other thread.

Companies have the right to change pricing any time they wish. It does not mean anything “unfair” was done to you, since you got 100% of what you agreed to pay for. If you buy a car today for $20,000, then find out your neighbor got a sweet deal on his identical car for $16,000, can you go back and demand $4,000 from the dealer? No, because you agreed to the $20,000 price when you bought your car.
Turbine today offers anyone the free download to their game with F2P. They used to make you buy the box for that, now they don’t. When they went F2P, did they have to track down every single customer who had ever bought the original box version of their game, and refund their $50? Of course not. Because every single one of those customers got exactly what they paid for.
Let’s turn this on its head and look at it from an entirely different angle. If Turbine had to RAISE the price of their expansions to cover operating expenses, and had to start selling each at $100, would they have any right to go back to you and demand you pay the difference?
You can complain..... but you agreed to this in the TOS.
3. Ownership. You understand and agree that you have no interest, monetary or otherwise, in any feature or content contained in the Game, including without limitation the Turbine account registered to you (the “Account”), in-game items, Turbine Points or in-game currency. You may not purchase, sell or trade any Account, in-game items, Turbine Points or in-game currency for anything of value in the real world without Turbine’s express written permission, and any attempt to do so without Turbine’s prior written consent shall be null and void. Turbine may revise, suspend, terminate or delete the Account at any time for any reason or no reason, with or without notice to you.

I came here expecting an actual rant..
Im leaving sorely disappointed :\
Its a smart marketing move. Allow people into the areas, but don't allow them to do anything (apart from the Epic quest lines). People are more likely to hand over money for these quest packs if they can go and in see what's there.
edit - and whilst we are not privy to numbers, all I know is that leading up to the F2P change, we had a dev state on the forum that coding in a "rowing" animation for one of the epic books (when the fellowship leaves Loth) was too expensive to consider. I think that speaks volumes for the state LOTRO was in.

/end thread. We found God... Lol
The silliness of the OP can be compared to the silliness of those who jump right in front to defend Turbine and the direction the game is taking. We got it. He/she's being silly, but so are you. Seems like some ppl really need to be noticed by the Mods lol.
"let me look at the dev tracker..."
"oh, they wrote something! Let me write how wonderful they are and what a great job they do! yey!"
Bah

LOTRO was hardly going to close before f2p launched. They just saw an opportunity to make more money and took it. From what I have read they have quadrupled the amount of money they made per month pre-f2p. That does not mean the game was about to shut down. I am personally worried that we will see nothing new for months and months while they cater to the f2p crowd leveling up. I mean this is prob for another thread but how many times am I supposed to run SG?
They are removing content such as individual seeds for things replacing it with a generic type seed for all. I never maxed out farming but I didn't have any issues with seeds. It brings a vision and a chuckle..
of someone in charge coming into the programmer's great hall and shouting "Lets go people! Type something! Click something! Program something! Lets make this game easy!"
I am guessing this game will be picked apart from once what it was. Did SOE buy Turbine?![]()

The real question is what in the world makes you believe LOTRO was ever #2 MMO behind WoW? LOTRO has-is no where near #2 MMO. Being very positive about LOTRO's "success", and wanting to share what you think with others is not a bad thing, but you really hurt your cause when you go way over the line of believability with comments like that.
