Good 1v1 Thread!

Just curious, because I'm guessing that low ranked spiders (low rank anything, really) would get obliterated.

Yes, against RKs and minstrels you're right.

I'm curious to fight more RKs and minstrels since I just got my skill range debuff, that's definitely gonna help.

Edit: tried Radastriel and Wilandria and got completely destroyed heh, spiders have got to be the worst class fighting a RK (judging by playing both classes).

What I noticed about spiders, is that by rank 1 you have most of the skills you really need to kill the melee classes. And the next step that helps is rank5 for the speed buff trait and Web the Earth.

Good RKs always tore me up on my spider. It's a tough match up to be sure.

So THAT'S it. I kinda noticed right at the end that the warleader was a tad...inresponsive. I had just saw some of you on the hill, got hit by a little poison, then remember seeing a reaver and warleader come down. My reaction was "I'm gonna get rolled, but if I get the reaver the warleader will heal him, so I went after the warleader. If I'd of known it was an attempted 1v1 I'd of been all over it. Well, next time Im staring at a raid parked up a hill and they send people down one by one, I'll pay more attention! Hard to get out of the select a target and hit your skill sequence as many times before you die mode sometimes. Thanks again for another awesome night.

I had come up and decided to watch you guys. Got out the pie, but two of you came down to fight. Only saw round 4 when the two of you came down to fight, but when I died, I looked up and all of you (I'd guess at least 15 or so.) were just watching. It was a ton of you, all just watching me. Guess thats why your called "creeps". It was an amazing moment and I lol'd so hard. Thank you all for the fun. Peace out and cya all out there! -Baskloin

A spider can't win a 1 v 1 at my rank (and if they do their opponent sucks or more than likely isn't even trying).

Anyway, sorry about the warleader, I had no idea he was on auto follow. I kept waiting for you to attack me and you just never did. Towards the end (when you had 700 health) I stopped attacking and was going to move the raid away leaving you standing, but another non raid person finished you off. Oh well, thanks for the fun. Since I won't be out here much longer and will be gone again by spring good luck and stay safe.

When i was playing as a warg in Ettenmoors for some time i had a nice ''fight'' with a hunter(dont remember his name)
I was only rank 2 i think
The hunter tracked me and start shooting arrows on me, each time decreasing my morale
I didnt fight but i start running back to TA(which was under monster players control) but the hunter kept chasing me and shooting arrows all the way inside TA! He aggroed one Troll and some other orc npcs until he got defeated by them and i had left with very few morale

That was fun and funny

Speaking for overall performance on a wide front, I'd go so far as to say in my opinion, he's the best player on Landroval.

Had an ab-so-freaking-loot-ly amazing 1v1 with Superstardestroyer. Four, actualy. Or maybe 5....idk. Either way I have this much to say. I lost all five. After the first he came on his freep and we talked a bit how I lost cause my darn duel monitor setup made me alt-tab out when I click on the other monitor. So we decided to rematch on candy mountain.

I came.

I used all my CDs.

I died.

I must say it was a close, and truely epic fight. I have never met a reaver as good as him, and all others now seem to fade away in memory. This was it, the peak of 1v1s, and I was unprepared to face such awesomeness. Most reavers I will say die with me just using half my CDs, but no, nothing could have saved me. I hit Pledge, Warriors heart, DB, the first two again, moral pots, all to no avail. After that I used more buffs and tried again, but in the next two times, I was not even close. Later I ran into him at grams with all my CDs up again, and again was put in my place. So I take my helmet off to you, oh tool of the Empire, and look forward to another chance to sharpen my skills on such a hard wetstone. Peace and GL on rank 9 (Please tell me you get no more awesome skills, then ill never beat ya.)

P.S. I should have my "The Warrior" Title tonight. If you on I will be tracking you down for the 510th KB. XD

I agree, Star is a fantastic player.

In other news I have lost 4 fights with Neren over the last 4 days or so and let me just say that it's bee good to see a Champion who really knows how to fight a Warleader.

In our last match I got the drop on him and didn't realize I was in Commanders Stance! /facepalm

But, surprise surprise, I was able to get a few heals off while in that stance before switching to go for the burst DPS race. Was just about to fire off another wave of yells (hopefully dropping him down to ~1000) when I took a Relentless Crit to the face. I will definately have to re-examine how I have been fighting Champions.

Oh and I ran into a 60 Hobbit Burg and wasted about half an hour emoting with the little guy.



I didn't really feel like picking on him so I mapped away and left him in peace.

ive seen stardestroyer around about 3 times solo in the last 3 months or so, never finish the 1v1. He either moves into a keep or a bridge when near death.

I guess he does so since i kite him a little.

*small note to stardestroyer*
A burg along with other classes have to kite high ranked reavers unless they want to die 100% of the time because comparing your reaver to my burg
- you have 2-3k more morale than me
- you do bigger melee dmg than me
- you have near 2x more mitigations/armour than me

so basically all i have above the reaver class is CC (which most of the times gets resisted and potted out of)

I rarely use even half my CDs in a 1v1 and it seems you wont even fight me unless I start out of stealth and you charging at me, so if I kite you its your own fault for not using the number 1 rule of pvp "snare first"

dont get me wrong though he is the 3rd most hardest reaver on this server to take down 1v1 imo

Our (reaver) slow is awful (and doesn't land often). You can at least bump up DITE range with a legacy.

Any burglar who is decent, and wants to, can DITE-kite a reaver into oblivion.

Burglars have high Parry/Evade and can churn out some heavy burst DPS, especially if they stun you and get position (Yes, reavers have resilience/stun pot, but diminishing returns are not working so well at the moment beyond that).

If it gets close, most burgs pop TnG (if they didn't at the beginning, or hey -- maybe they'll just RnA/TnG if they did) and HiPs if it gets really close.

All of that being said, Star is good at what he does and doesn't back down from a fight in my experience.

You can't blame a reaver from just going 'whatever' and moving on. I can usually get high ranked reavers to around 2k before having to hips, then I try to follow up with a huge surprise strike and a few hits to seal the deal. So that's at least 2 CDs (TnG, iHIPs) and a potion in any successful reaver fight.

Which actually doesn't work for me based on this forum bug I have.

I get certain forum bugs that I have no idea why I get. Maybe because I have it set to display 100 posts per forum page versus the default amount? Either way, upon visiting the Lotro forum from bookmarks, I click a thread (doesn't matter which one) and it reloads the page I'm viewing, then I can view the thread I want to. Following a link from a different website to Lotro forums causes the site to refresh, and then I can successfully click the link to the Lotro forums.

It's bizarre. And it really annoys the heck out of me.

I think maybe you should have tried to stay in melee with me a bit longer. That really all depends if the stance also increases your bleed damage. If so, I can see why you wanted to keep your distance at times.

The second fight he was in regular stealth mode and it came down to the very end. I was losing that one towards the end of the fight so I tried to class horn him. After a solid hit with brutal he potted out and hit stealth JUST as I was in the animation for the kill from my next attack. That sir, was an excellent play and I salute you!

I have never come across Superstardestroyer solo, but I have absolutely no doubt it would be a fight where I needed a cooldown or my slow to be up, as I typically need with ranked reavers to have a chance to win 1v1. It would also help if I saw him before he saw me, as is true with any ranked reaver. They are beasts in charge and very tough for a light armor class to stay above half through that.

Personally for me, the hardest reavers to take down solo atm are Nandralone, Fard and Morepiesplz. That is, they're almost always solo (although wargs seem to want to follow Nand, and I can see why) and they don't run. Thal's reaver as well as Nomba are extremely tough as well for a solo of any class, but they particularly take a bite out of my minstrel when they choose to play those toons.

I have really enjoyed fights against them all when they arise. Not to mention, it's so good to have Nandralone back!

Howlers stance is freaking awesome. Ups the damage at the cost of your hips, but hey, once you are in a fight what use is hips other then to escape?

To my buddies creepside, I suppose you saw me on *gasps* two legs last eve. Fear not, madness has not over taken me. I chose to come freepside to show some sense of support of the members of my kinship, (Titans) and to help give you guys some good open field fights.

I think my favorite fight was at the TR HS where I found myself running in circles behind Leekae, throwing heal after heal and IHW on him. My home creeps never fail to deliver the good fight. Thanks guys, see you back on four feet this evening.
