Good 1v1 Thread!

I find trick kiting kind of lame and a very slow fight. Yeah if you have it maxed out with LIs, you're probably going to win the fight.. eventually. You can't blame a reaver from just going 'whatever' and moving on. I can usually get high ranked reavers to around 2k before having to hips, then I try to follow up with a huge surprise strike and a few hits to seal the deal. So that's at least 2 CDs (TnG, iHIPs) and a potion in any successful reaver fight.

A reaver cant be completely kited by a burg...we don't have damaging ranged skills to do that. we have a stun/heal and a random weak personal CJ we can use from 8.5m away with trick range which are all on 40sec-1.30minute CD as you know. I do kite at points i believe i shouldn't be in melee or don't have to be. I also don't use touch and go but rather use knives out against reavers/wargs in 1v1 and if needed i use a hips to get another big hit from stealth just as you mentioned.

and who would the top 2 be

the 2 reavers i believe are hardest would be wuffles/fardo but I still havent had a 1v1 with nandrolone since his return. Reaver class is really simple to play and there is only 1 thing that separates a mediocre reaver from an awesome played reaver and that's movement.

That's very true, in my opinion as well. It's very difficult being a Reaver that stands out, and when I fight the ones that are supposedly the best, they seem no different to me than everyone else. That's what happens when you only have like, 10 skills.

Alright well first as those of you who were there know, Buppkiss and I spent some time early this morning roaming around the Ettenmoors and ended up accidentally starting a fight club in front of TR. After the results of that morning I have the following things to say:

1) Nerf Radar, seriously. You are the only RK who keeps their power up through all 2 minutes of the Banner of Terror (most can't even keep up their power without the Banner affecting them).

2) I need to fight a more suicidal Minstrel to get that KB. Preferably Kara who only knows about Damage, fears, and rezzes.

3) Banner of Terror is the I win button versus Champs and Guardians. I cannot wait until I can deploy that in combat.

4) Burglars will be off the hit list soon. I just need to find one that uses HiPs offensively and not to run.

5) In combat Banner of Terror will not save me from Radar. The duration is too short.

6) I must remember to buy more stun pots whenever I get the chance. Fighting Radar with only 2 is a sure way to guarantee that the fight will not drag out 10+ minutes.

7) In combat Banner of Terror will be enough to survive the Minstrel's new Interrupt. But it's still dumb to put it on such a short CD IMO. Would've been nicer to have seen another melee skill for them.

I also fought 3 rounds with Neren. I don't know what you are doing, but you hit hard enough and crit often enough that my current build seems to be insufficient to defeat you. Of course once I dropped the BoT it was an entirely different story =D

And Cynthri, we need a rematch. Preferably one where you haven't been Captain buffed.

The first fight I hit Cb but noticed it didnt go off properly so I was going to try the kiting method. No dice there. The second, you got the charge on me, I figured I'd open with a few Remorseless strikes and it paid off. I did get CB to activate that second time around but, no pots and no DR were up either.

I'd love to fight you. Warleader fights can last a while, so I would not engage you around a map in as we would be interrupted.

I have now played my minstrel on Bullroarer, and another melee skill would not fit the class with how they've been evolving it for a couple years, sadly. Not to mention the whole point is to not be in melee for long considering we have one melee skill. I actually fight a lot more in melee than most minstrels I know, as I am not a fan of kiting (which my class can do easily and extensively with traited anthems). However I think you will find that the banner still won't always be enough of a help for minstrels (or RKs) with very high power pools. For those with less than 5000 power (not sure of the right threshold), then I can see it being a huge advantage especially if the minstrel doesn't drop warspeech when the fight is extensive.

The interrupt on a short cooldown is dependent on the minstrel being in warspeech. If they drop, it goes on a much longer cooldown and the fight then becomes all about power management which should make those fights pretty fun!

Yeah, it's always a dice roll with Remorseless. Definitely paid off for you that fight. For the first fight, my uber reaver slow managed to actually hit every time, which probably helped vs. the kite.

I was semi-alt-tabbed before that first fight, which is why I didn't attempt to charge. Glad I tabbed back in!

Was out soloing for a bit today. Two fights came to mind that could have gone either way:

1) Postoffice - great fight, glad you stuck around until I got a decent surprise strike off. (I know I stalled a lot before the fight got going, but I feel I need as much help as possible against well played reavers)

2) Lovedoctor - been awhile since I've found a decently ranked defiler around alone, the reaver finished me off, and I barely was able to get you down in the process. You were probably half a sec away from finishing your big heal before the last hit.

We were doing a data center upgrade at work today and I had some downtime throughout the day to get some lotro on my laptop. The laptop screen is a much smaller field of view since I cant being myself to zoom all the way out so when you charged on me I didnt see you coming and then thought to my self OMG DnD is after me!!! Do Stuff to him!!!

Thanks for the three or four 1 v1's I was able to get into. I finally won my second 1 v 1 in about 50 tries. Lost .437 rating being rolled, so at least you all by then end weren't getting much from me...lol

Faedros (sp).. sorry I called out 1 v 1 and heard back the creep group wouldn't interfere, but another couple guys came down and smacked you. my bad.
