R.I.P. Creep Biographies

I was unhappy to log into my creeps after the recent update and discover that the biography panel has been completely removed from creepside. I realize we cannot and never could inspect other creeps, and therefore the creep bio doesn't serve the same purpose as the freep bio. But it was still a very useful place to keep notes like the names of alts of my favorite enemies, or the best crits with which I have been hit or that I have scored.

And the worst part about this isn't that I won't have this convenient place to keep notes from now on. No, the worst part is that all the information I had written in all the bios of my 15+ creep characters over the course of approximately two and a half years in the moors is now all gone.

If there was a warning anywhere prior to the update that the bio was going to be removed, I somehow missed it. And considering I read the forums rather regularly, especially in regards to updates and patch notes, if there was a warning, it was insufficiently publicized. What harm would it have done to just leave our bios as they were and let us use them how we wished?

And in the (likely) event that I am looking right at, but failing to see, the button on my UI which would take me to my still existant bio, someone please tell me.

Otherwise, if the creep bio panel really is gone, was this intended? Or is this a new bug similar to the disappearing "Glory of Angmar" titles and deeds? Should we be bugging this?

I believe this is a bug and urge you to file a /bug report.

Without the availability of the Biography panel in the monster play UI, it is not possible to review adoptive relationships, either.

The Biography panel isn't available through a button on the Character panel like it is for freeps, nor can it be accessed through the System menu like it can for freeps.

Since the /adopt command still works and the Breaker of Oaths NPC is still in Gramsfoot, I believe that this UI panel was left out unintentionally.

The good news is that your Bio information is still there, nothing has been lost! The less-than-optimal news is that the fix (to allow Monster Players to access the Biography again) won't be live for some time.

Thanks for the clarification, Rask! It's good to know the data is still on the servers, even if we can't see it right now.

Is there any chance you could have this added to the User Interface section in the list of Known Issues? It seems like the unintended disappearance of an entire UI panel warrants a mention there.

Raskolnikov, thank you so much for the information. And I am completely satisfied just knowing all the bio information was not lost and will one day be restored. As for how long it takes, I am not worried in the least. Thanks for at least letting us know it is being worked on. Also, I loved the Simpsons link

I don't particularly care about the biography, but kudos for admitting the error - I think a lot of us can appreciate it regardless of what it was.

/e finds a lone shoe and sock, a pizza box, a crumpled piece of paper.
/e stops to uncrumple the paper, she sees it's a printout of player feedback with smiley and frowny faces - must have been homework - crumples it back up.
/e continues to poke at the stuff under the table, and finds an empty red bull can, a tv guide, the old vault, a cat toy and um I don't know what that is.
/shoves the old vault in the pizza box with the last of the leftover pizza so it will never be found and slowly backs out of the room.

1 good job on admitting the mistake! (didn't think that was possible for turbine folks)
2 Never thought about using the bio for notes....(I actually love writing bios but since we couldn't see them I never gave it another thought.)
3 Of course a creep fix would take time being so low on the priority list all the time... j/k
