Could it be Gothmog? "Knowledge" = Feanor, "fire" = Hurin, and "water" = Ecthelion of the Fountain?

    Exactly, Gothmoth ^_^

Balrog, a spirit of fire, darkness and shadow (I took out the 'fire' because I'd speak of it next :P). He defeated the knowledge - Fingon, king of the Noldor (Noldor translates into seekers of knowledge) - the Spirit of Fire, Feanor; and the water - Ecthelion of the Fountain - slew him and was slayed by him (told ya it was a bad metaphor :P)

these throw me off a little, but i still think you may be speaking of Snowmane?

who was felled by a dart, and crushed King Theoden beneath him at the Battle of the Pelennor Fields,
    and was sired by Lightfoot

    Re: The Riddle-Game

    Snowmane is correct:

He outran the charging rohirrim horses at the Pelennor Fields,
and into mortal peril as well.
Obviously we know he was a brilliantly white-coated horse.
He was the son of Quickfoot,
driven mad by the onslaught of the Nazgul,
    felled by a poisoned dart.
Fell onto Theoden, crushing the life from him,
but Snowmane's Howe grew green grass, whereas the Witch-King's was ever barren thereafter.

I can't come up with much so i will try something unconventional.

My name is Spoken in song, by one who's hair is long.
Robert is his name, his last rymes with can't.
speak the name of the group, the person, or the song.
    and you shall be wrong!
    speak my name.
    and go wrong you shan't.

    Re: The Riddle-Game

well, I have all three of the answers that would make me wrong; but I can't find the name that's Spoken in song, unless it's "Mr. Pitiful", or perhaps "The Bridge"?.

aha, you don't have the other three answers either then ;-)
I will say that this is a person, and no more shall i say, so it's not an object, and their name is actually said .............by name ^_^

upon second thought and further reflection, you may have some of the wrong answers.

You are thinking in the right realm, but are on the wrong track ^_^

Well, I have 2 more guesses, both of which are shots in the dark.

There is one proper name sung on that album, and that is "Thor" (in No Quarter).

The only other option is that maybe you're speaking of "Death". But I believe s/he goes by another name depending on who you ask, so I suggest that Thor and Thor alone is actually named.

The answer is Strider. He is named in one of Led Zeppelin's songs (I think it has a Welsh place name, which escapes me at the moment). The singer is, of course, Robert Plant.

Or Gollum, who is named in Ramble On (also Led Zeppelin)

I considered that first, since Ramble On is better known - but the hint about following the named person and not going wrong made me rethink it.

Gotta love Google (I never would have remembered the song's name otherwise!) - the song is called the Bron Yr Aur Stomp. Plant named his dog Strider, and the song is about walking in the woods with him.

Ah yes I know Bron-Y-Aur stomp (^_^) but had never looked deep enough into it, or really understood all the lyrics till now, thankye.

also, not to derail this thread or anything, but is anyone else as upset as me that there were no Led Zeppelin songs anywhere in the new movies? even in the credits? Even if Ramble on, or Stairway to heaven were a no go, I know that Battle of Evermore could have at least fit in somewhere ^_^

    Okay, and here it is;

Before I became immortalized in this game I died in a movie (but was longer in cosmetics than on screen), learned how to

pour the booze in a play by the king and was the owner of the voice of Frodo, so who am I?

With who, I mean the game character, not the real life actor ;-)

    Good luck!
