Well, since you've quoted another post in this thread, you must have already read through the thread and discovered that this is a known issue and you are not the only one experiencing it, so I'll refrain from further comment.

    This is frustrating.

    1) Because VIP people who pay for the full game should have patching priority over the countless hordes of f2ps.

    2) Because people WHO ALREADY PATCHED ARE CLOGGING THE QUEUE FOR NO REASON AT ALL, and compounding the problem for everyone... WHY?

Sounds like the store: put in a huge grind and sell a quicker solution.

It's more like there's a patch server with thousands of players trying to connect all at once and limited spots, so people have to wait their turn.

stop trying with the other 2. you only need one computer patched and then you can copy the client over to the other 2.

It's server load, and lots of people are in the same boat as you are. Two seperate connections and accounts, and I'm 0/480 connect attempts (4 hours of retries every 1 minute).

Thankfully I just let the patcher run in the background and do other things while I'm waiting, but it's not endearing me to Turbine right now when I can't get even get to the Patch server, never mind the fact the servers aren't even up yet so when they are, the load of people trying to log in (and consequently, bogging down the patch server as their clients are verified) isn't going to make things any easier.

For those asking how to tell if you are patched; from what I remember of other patch days, once you are patched you go through to trying to login to the game servers, which, assuming they are down, should be producing 403 HTTP errors (Forbidden). So if you are seeing a 403 error then you are patched and the game servers are down, whereas if you are just seeing "A connection attempt failed", you still need to patch but the patch servers are overloaded.

Can someone who has already patched/Sapience, please confirm that once patched you will see a 403 error to indicate the game servers are down, and if you are seeing this to please close your launcher to save capacity on the patch servers.

I've noticed that even if you restart the client, it still puts you in the same queue, what I mean is, if the retry is in 45 secs and you close the client down, wait 10 secs then open another one, the retry will be around 30 odd secs, not 59.

I'm leaving mine open and reading forums and doing other things

To answer 1) This is early. And servers aren't up. Priority wouldn't change anything (you'll have priority login when the servers are actually up, not just patching)

    2) Because they don't read all the posts.

    No need for yelling.

*sigh* Off to school. It's likely going to be even worse when I get back home, what with every US player coming back to patch... *sadness*

Please refer to the previous posts regarding this. The discussion is regarding Turbine's tweets about some silly contests when there are so many upset customers.

Turbine, can you haz moar bandwith?
@ newbismo: thats why you give the tickets out on a torrent file. That way everyone can print the tickets and instead of long queues, we call can get in as fast as we can run to that show.
    Just to use you analogy

Wow I'm already level 67; these quests are really laid out nicely. The flow reminds me of the revamped Evendim. Cheers.
