Is it me? or is it every time there is a new major patch, the strain on the severs are so great that it takes hours, nah, DAYS! for some people to patch.

Surely WB/Turbine anticipate this? If so, you would think they would inprove the size of their patch sever so it can handle more people. Surley they can afford this now with everyone buying TP's. Please Turbine, help a poor addict out

Still nothing, but not getting too annoyed since it looks like gladden is going to be the last server to come back up anyway.

That's right but lots of things were ported across for the ST, they needed to keep their customer base since most people regarded Atari's as nothing but games machines. The 800 used an 8-bit 6502 CPU, the ST had a 16/32-bit 68000 CPU.

Euh... except that they are not working on it ? ''There is nothign to fix'' is their statement. Believe it or not, that is what they say... After hours of waiting to connect and hour to wait to patch and then AGAIN hours of waiting to connect, they answer ''there is nothing to fix''.

It's never a good sign when they merge posts into one, it's easier for them to ignore things that way.

    Don't worry folks...

MMO Login Servers can only handle so many concurrent requests before a crafty network technician on the layer 2 network node towards the last mile to Turbine's Datacenter decides it is time to slow down all the "distributed denial of service" coming from all of us gamers :-) No way that'll ever change on days like this one. It is not failure on Turbine's part at all. Just common IT sense we're getting a taste of right now ^_^

Just hang in there - we're still early after all, with the release officially coming on 27th.

It's funny actually :-D but Saruman will never be killed unless Grima puts a knife in his back in the Shire. There will never be a chance for players to kill Saruman because it would break the lore.

I have successfully logged in after letting the launcher cycle through attempts for about 20 minutes. I guess I had better look at my minstrel first, since it will have the most changes. Good luck to the rest of you!

*Them* is (in this thread) only Sapience - and he is being payed to do this! He is not the administrator working on the servers.

Why had Turbine open the servers putting more stress on the patching server (you client need to connect with it every time you logon to confirm you have the lattest version of client) when there are loads of people unable to patch his clients?

Deleting your toons and game because Turbine tries to launch the game a day early.

Lol guys, dont restart the LOTRO launcher, expecting it to work faster.
Think about it this way. Right now, we are all in a single file line, waiting to connect to turbines computer. When you restart your launcher, all that does is put you in the back of the line, increasing your wait time.

<nod> This was suggested a zillion times.
    They never listened to it.

I guess they rather spend DEV time to store-upgrades or to changing the basic game-mechanisms so you need to buy more store items, then to spend time on helping their customers.

Amazing how less they care about their customers, simply amazing.
