Anyway, he should probably close the window and try again. I've only waited for about 15 minutes to get past the red cross and started patching.

Finally patching. Had to go through Preloaded Updates, and now I'm getting the new stuff.

Going fairly quickly except the long periods where my hard drive decides to throw a fit and halt everything.

Of course, after this I'll probably be stuck waiting to get into the game proper.

Edit: Oh wow, I made it in. I'm amazed.

I FINALLY got past that awful red x. But I'm stuck at "examine game data". I'm not really sure what to do now. Do I wait and hope it gets unstuck, do I restart the log in screen and hope I get past the red x. or what?

what a crock! I can't believe we let Turbine get away with this. Here we are, a full day before the originally announced launch date and it has taken them literally HOURS to get the patch out and the worlds live!

I planned on exploring this new land a bit, but instead, i've been forced to participate in the real world. Turbine, you have reduced me to doing laundry! Now all my clothes are clean and fresh smelling, I hope you're happy.

The real slap in the face is that I'm an out of work game artist, one of your own kind! I've been out of work for almost a year now, and today, instead of playing the game (f2p, and haven't bought RoI since I have no job) I actually worked on my portfolio and tried to get a job. I can't believe how you treat people that haven't given you money. You just take my un-earned, non-money and give me extra content early for all I care, I'm sure there are plenty of other games that would be glad for me to not give them money.

If this doesn't get resolved before this evening, and I have to spend quality time with my wife, so help me god...

was about to reply, expanding on this post but then my game started updating (probably would have updated earlier, but had to exit the launcher to work on some other stuff). Thanks for the entertaining thread all. See you in game!

Everyone just needs to take a chill pill. I know there's a lot of new people, but seems a lot of the older crowd has forgotten the fiasco that was MoM Launch!!! Just sit back and relax, go outside, watch tv, play with the kids, come back later after you've cooled off, and remember it's just a game!

You have hit the nail on the head...we HAVENT forgotten but seems good old WB Turbine HAS. Guess that makes them 0-2 for major expansions, not to mention the little failures along the way (Vol 2 Book 8 anybody??)

Yes its just a game, a game most of us PAY for. Silly us for wanting what we paid for.

Mine did the same thing, I just let it be and now i am at 30%

wooo hoo after 11 hours am now patching. Dont care if after patching I get the red x I just know I am patching. Good luck to everyone else. I still think Turbine messed up today and need to look at doing it differently next time.
