    I think I've been trying to "connect" over 12 hours now

    This is quite hilarious, actually. There are people playing already, and here I have not even been able to start patching. Really makes me reconsider paying Turbine for VIP. Ever again.

    Some people are past initial connection. others are still waiting. There is no real queue, it'd just random hit or miss. Have patience, sooner or later, you will be random number one.

    Same here, only I gave up on examining data after about 45 mins. At least I learned that I can leave the launcher running and it will connect when it does.

    Still wanting Turbine to separate the login for patching from the login for live servers though. No reason to have the login for patching competing with the login for servers, and vice versa.

    I did this on my comp, didn't work. 3 hours with a red X later.

    Husbands comp has been stuck on exam game data for 1 1/2 hours.

I'm a vip I'm still not logged on and I could careless you're no more special then any one else here let me correct this so I get a bit less flamed just because were vip doesn't mean we get better treatment it's a Free to play game which means it's your choice to pay for a sub. And all the sub means is we don't have to grind Tp for certain things.... So ah Vip's shouldn't be complaining when again I say it's our choice to pay we don't have to,to play the game lmao so every one that says we should get in first is just dead wrong.....

    oh boy this is taking longer than what I had expected!......9 hours continuous trying and the lil red arrow refuses to go away.....

    Hoping this is nothing to get alarmed about....yet.....since its my first expansion, I keep thinking if something might be wrong at my end

    What would be even better would be to drop the files on filefront or gamershell or a similar organization that has download mirrors throughout the country(some even in eu)and in essence get a bunch more bandwidth for nothing. That's what wow did when they had download problems in their launcher when I played.

    game will not connect

    ok so i finally got my new pc, got the game client instaled, and now i cant connect at all? it's been stuck retyring for at least 15 or 20 minutes now, maybe (probably) more

    whats up with that???

    Actually America isn't the centre of the world. Over here it's almost 11:30 in the evening, most of us have been waiting all day/evening for the update to start... I've been waiting for hours, now the patching finally started and I'm hoping it's not gonna get interrupted again and I might be able to play at least a bit yet today...

    At 17:28 EST, I'm looking at two announcements in my launcher posted today about the ROI release.

    The first one. "Welcome to Isengard," is said to have been posted at 18:37 EST. The second, "Exceptionally High Volume," at 20:17 EST.

    Just an FYI to Turbine ppl. Doubt it's a big deal, but figured you should know.

    Here we are now entertain us!

    Like many out there I just started to try to download the patch and am reading the forums...
    Well I started to listen to music and I selected...
    When the lyric screamed out and it seemed to match many of the posts.

    I'm still waiting to connect BTW...
    Oh well whatever nevermind...

    after two hours of waiting at the dreaded red x, the updater finally started downloading and is at 25% now .... hang in there everyone, the only advice I could offer is to leave your client updater on (so it cycles every 60 seconds attempting to connect) and don't restart it

    74% into updating game data now.

    After I've relaunched the patch window, I was only stuck at the red 'x' for like 15 minutes.
