    The stars are right...

Ancient calendars mark the day. Clocks of bone tick thirteen times. Flame burns cold and milk sours. Mothers hold their children tight. Movement stirs in long forgotten tombs. The winds blow North, a frost in the air. Animals hide away, sensing something we cannot.
For beneath the seas, his dead eyes open. Eyes that should not see stare through the depths. Stare at the shining lights we call home. A home built on borrowed time.

    His time.

On this day, he rises to collect his due. His... Columbus Day. This glorious and horrible time. Have you prepared yourself?

Celebrate and cower, rejoice and despair, for he comes. Praise him for his wonders, the pillars of our world. In caves we would still shiver if not for his marvels, yet peace we would all know if not for his terrors. Yet the choice has been made, the rest all consequence. So sing of him! Sing of the telegraph, the lever, the molecule and coffee. Rejoice that he gave us smart phones and Velcro. Praise him for friction and the Birthday song. For today is his day, when he comes to claim his due.

So to you all I can only say,
    happy
    Columbus
    Day...

lol. I felt like I was reading a George R.R. Martin book just now.

Happy Zombie Columbus Day! There should really be an in-game event for this. ZC wandering the Barrow Downs (and other dead areas) or something, dropping goodies if a fellowship can take him down. Like the old Amarthiel events.

Soo, a day to honour the man who got the honour of being the man who discovered America, even though Vikings, Indians and possible the Chinese were there long before him...

I say we turn it into Zombie_Columbus day, at least he deserves the honour!

Yeah, i thought the same thing, though this is so much cooler, I agree with an earlier poser though, there should be some sort of in game activity to honor Zombie Columbus day.

Columbus did not discover America, the credit for that generally goes to Amerigo Vespucci, although it is disputed in some quaters. Columbus discovered the West Indies, I think it was the Bahamas were he fist landed .

    Happy Columbus day!

*scratches his head, and is confused* ...but surely it was Zombie Edison that invented these things right?

Neither of those men discovered any of those places, as they had already been occupied by people for thousands of years. They are credited for "discovering" those places because they are white, and apparently it didn't "count" until then because according tot he history books something done is only worth anything if it was done by a white man. While I understand ZC's post, this day really doesn't celebrate anything, at all.

It celebrates a day off school, a day off work, the Columbus day storm (in Oregon), and apparently Zombies

Amerigo mapped the continent. Not the most accurate maps, but still: accomplishment worth credit. As for the white people hate displayed there, personal problem, really.

That said, back on topic: This post totally made me LOL. Thank you Z_C. Happy Columbus Day!
