    TO LOTRO Dev's ******

I returned from a long break, left my lvl 65 parked in Mirkwood , reasons why I left, combo $$ and a bit burnout. but i was still paying to play, it was not FTP yet.

came back now a VIP did the 1 year promo for 99. and after Epic Volumn 3 and running all over middle earth trying to get into the new Isenguard pack i also purchased..

However..... I wanted to thank you for a Great introduction to the whole Saruman and White hand clans as i move south, into Enadawaith. just one thing to say. OMG thats great, how you took me back, to give me a good feel of history.

Just very well done. if anyone is thinking of skipping. DONT, its a great story, you do some of those.. history/solo instances where your playing the role of someone else, to get a feel of why stuff happened the the way it did.

just Great. Now im 67, in the middle town of Dunland and starting with a good feel of , why im there, whats going on and over all , playing with a big grin on my face. well done!

please pat the Dev's, on the back from me.

Nice Job! cant wait till the nxt update.

It is so refreshing to see a positive post. I'm really happy you're enjoying playing. Nothing wrong with a bit of burnout, it's happened to me a couple of times.

I haven't been to RoI yet, but I know what you mean. The Epic line in Enedwaith where the ranger takes you back in time, and you fight alongside Isuldur! Very awesome.

Given the entirely positive and rant-free content, I'm left wondering what the filtered word in the OP's title is.

I'm curious too. I thought this was going to be a rant thread based on the title.

We use pound symbols (#) for our censoring, so that's not a censored word. That's just a few asterisks the OP added into the title.

Hahaha...This has to be troll baiting. Wait, just kidding. I completely agree and I'm sure the dev's needed to see that not all post are complaints. Good job all around!

I think the asterisks are his equivalent of setting off fireworks to get people to pay attention to what he has to say. It made me click on the thread, after all!

I agree. I love reading posts about how folks are enjoying the game.

But honestly, they don't tend to get much love, as can be seen here:

248 views, ZERO replies thus far. I guess I'm the only person on the forum who has a favorite zone.

As sad as it sounds, in every forum I've ever seen, it's the drama and negativity that draw views and comments.

Honest kudos get swept under the rug. Pity, really.

+rep to the OP for taking the time to express how they are actually enjoying the game.

Ah yes, of course you do, it's another forum I currently frequent that uses asterisks .. I see a lot of them over there.

Celestra, don't lie to your users...

Clearly Celestra doesn't want to utter the word because she would get caught by the BAN HAMMER for saying it.

    The censored word was

    T
    H
    A
    N
    K
    S
    !

    Re: TO LOTRO Dev's ******

its not a word. i just added them to make it stand out a bit. i hope thats not aganist any form rule.

but i just wanted to say to them, how much i enjoyed getting to the new Dunland area, took me a while, running all over middle earth, but i helped me become more ... whats the word. emerssed, (spelling) after i helped each new ranger i keep wondering what new task or adventure i would do for the nxt one. I think one quest i had called for a fellowship, but i was told if I went solo i would get a buff to assist me, yet it still would be challenging. it was not a cake walk and the buff. was very helpful. I liked that aspect. , i was able to continue with the story and keep moving forward.

to me, its when u become stagnant and have no progression of any kind thats where I get kind of bored. but, like i said.

i wanted to give them a "Grats" on a good job with it, very pleased with the whole thing, and I'm looking forward to Isenguard being even more fun. now if i would just get some lucky 2nd age bow drop. lol

There are MANY folks that are having a great time with the game and ROI.

Unfortunately forums are typically where folks come to complain...which is fine and their right, just refreshing to see a positive post.

    Kudos OP

    Isn't £ the pound symbol? I thought # was the hash sign/symbol.

So jealous - it sounds like a great area! Some day I'll get to RoI ... some day.

Its slow going when you're juggling grad school, reading for pleasure, videogames with your mates and MMO's.

I realize this was cleared up by Celestra, I too thought when I saw the title that this was addressed towards the devs' unmentionables.

    Gday all,

Yes it's odd - the symbol # is usually pronounced 'hash' in UK/Aus/NZ, but sometimes also pronounced 'number'.
Whereas this one is called 'pound' - £ (the English currency.)

    But,
I notice that in the US, the # symbol is sometimes pronounced 'pound', and also sometimes as 'number'.
But in the US, the # as 'pound' means weight.

I think the # and £ symbols are on the same location in differerent keyboards (shift 3 here in Aus) - I can imagine some confusion somewhere in which the sentence
WRITTEN like this : The £ symbol is pronounced 'pound'
some came to look like this : The # symbol is pronounced 'pound'
    Dunno...

    As they say :
2 countries divided by a common language ;-)

BTW - I think the OP meant :
"To the Devs - 6 stars"

Or you could call it the octothorpe, although that does sound like something you'd run into in Deep Delvings.

For we pre-Twitter USians, the only time any of us really referenced the # symbol was when we were using a touch-tone phone to navigate a message system, where it was called "pound". Possibly it was called that because that became the key all of us would pound our pens into repeatedly out of sheer frustration at our futile attempts to escape voice-mail 'hades'.
