Good 1v1 Thread!

Given you play a healer on Freepside, a bit curious to hear your take on 1v1ing on a defiler. Will pester you with /tells in game I suppose

The healing part of the Defiler feels very similar to the RK. However, the DPS is nothing like the RK. My feelings right now are that the Defiler needs more DPS. But, I need to change some traits and what not around first. I'm pretty sure the DPS is fine I just need to learn how to trait and then use it without running out of power.

The one thing that is totaly different is the survivability. I feel like a tank most of the time. While I still lose many of the 1 on 1's on Stick.....they at least last a good amount of time. Where as on Father, I always feel rushed.

So, thus far.....I like 1 on 1's better on Stick than I do on Father. Win or lose I feel like I at least made the other side work for the kill on Stick, where on Father.......I feel like I ran in a circle for a few seconds, hit a few skills, and died........

At current I dont think creeps will be seeing Father anytime soon. I just cant get into the leveling and even if I could......I have no idea how to go about getting gear for Father.

I feel the same way in regards to my warg, 1v1s are pretty hectic, fun, but hectic. Where on the Defiler there is more time to plan several moves ahead of time. If the warg is button mashing Hungry Hungry Hippos, then the Defiler is more like Chess... ok maybe more like checkers.

With regard to DPS, power, long fights etc. We can't *burn down* an opponent in 1v1, it is going to be a long drawn out fight, and along with that, for the most part, pretty much any Freep who decides to run from a 1v1 with a defiler (for whatever reason) can get away. If I kill a freep in a 1v1 on my defiler, that freep at some point probably made the conscious decision: *I could bail from this fight and not die, or I can stick around and probably die, I will choose to stick around until the bitter end*.

Once I started soloing on my Defiler I gained a very different perspective and appreciation for the Freeps who would stick around. On my warg regardless of who wins, once I engage someone in a 1v1 they generally can't just stroll away from the fight saying "nah bro, I ain't feeling it, maybe later". My screenshots folder is filled with people bailing from a 1v1 with my defiler. Sometimes it is because they realized they were losing, but, if I am being totally honest, a good chunk of them are probably people saying to themselves "I really don't feel like having a 20 minute fight"

Awesome fight in TR Hithy and so very close! I ran out of healing/stun options... lol. It was hard to keep away from the NPC's in that tiny area but we did. Hope to run into you again

Yes ^^ this. It has a 25% chance to apply a 3 second knockdown. And wargs are invisible to me also for the most part as I'm sure burgs are to other classes on freepside...

I hope so!! No worries! Some people will let 1v1's go & others will join in. It's all part of the fun out there fo sho! Heck sometimes I'll do both at the same time...

I got giddy when I saw your name. You're one of a handful of Freeps that will stay and fight. I usually 'swing by () a frez and hop around like a chump when I see someone standing in there. Then I get all sadface when they just stare at me while waiting for others to show up. Don't they know that it's basically an auto-win after 1 or two fights when my stuff is on CD and they can just charge again from the rez!? Sheesh...teehee

I have had the pleasure of observing, assisting, or breaking up some of Gut's recent 1v#s. They're confusing to watch because he spends the whole fight hopping around. On the other hand, most of the freeps he's fighting are using all their bubbles + store pots to "win" so am pretty sure the hopping is the secret to creep pwnage.
