Ok so I like this thread, I love giff battles. But could you redo this thread as a new one pureblood? I think it's important to have this.

This thread, as sad as it is to say, is the most important bit of info creeps have been offered and given in years, this thread is pure win and should be stickied.
By the way PvMP isn't kelsans fault i'm sure. He has a bunch of stuipid azz suit mofos who don't know shiz, but think they do, who are probably always giving him stupid shiz to do and making him implement ridiculously ignorant ideas. This would be due to them being higher up the manager chain.
Haven't read this whole thread so hopefully this isn't redundant info.
Already bugged this, but spider melee pet is causing friendly npcs to attack again. It isn't even just around npcs that it happens, I have had members in my group report that in the middle of pvp they were able to target my pet and attack it. >.<
Also, I don't know if this is broken or just logging in combat log incorrectly, but I often get devastating hit messages where no damage is applied to the target. For example, Beleguial has hit "freepname" for a devastating hit with Tainted Kiss. instead of Beleguial has hit "freepname" for a devastating hit with Tainted Kiss for 550 acid damage. From the fail spider damage, I tend to think the coding is broken and we are getting nothing at all for dev hits on certain skills.

Meanwhile, in my mind
they're multiplying
In the sea without lees standeth the Bird of Hermes.
When all his feathers be from him gone, He standeth still here as a stone.
Here is now both white and red, And all so the stone to quicken the dead.
The Bird of Hermes is my name, Eating my wings to make me tame.
It's a bit misleading through over simplification though. The cost of fixing defects doesn't depend so much on where in the 'life cycle' they are fixed as where mistakes have been made. Fixing badly defined requirements when your software has already shipped may involve going back to the drawing board (design stage) and ultimately having to rewrite large sections of it, whereas fixing implementation bugs can be fairly trivial. Also obviously enough, fixing 'defects' late in the life-cycle will typically cost more for the simple reason that easy-to-fix (ie, cheap) defects have already been fixed at that point (although that probably doesn't apply to the mitigation issue).
In a system such as a MMORPG that inherently undergoes multiple cycles as it's being constantly updated and expanded, in which cycle a mistake was made would also be a factor.
