    So long...

...Fare Thee Well. Just left my kinship, Canceled my sub and heading across the seas to the WEST.

<Feels so strange I have played this game now for over 6 Years starting with Closed Beta continuously>

...I lost the passion I once had for the game.

...My best friends had all abandoned the game and things started to feel empty. I miss my 8 friends a tremendous amount - we shared so much fun and challenge and achievement with Hundreds of hours in Vent and kin forums having a blast. I found myself just unhappy and complaining about things the last few months and seems that means it was time to move on.

...Perhaps I will return at some future expansion.

    Good Luck to you All!

Haha, I could say the very exact thing except I didn't leave my kinship, they still play while I go afk. I played u10 in BR and decided this game is in such poor shape that I didn't even bother to patch this time. There was a day when patch day was excitement, now its just disapointment. Its kinda like Lotro hit the 100k mile mark, just doesn't drive like it used too.......

    Game

Problem is, everything is being homogenized and sterile. Classes are not what they were in the beginning (and yes most of them were superior back then for what they were designed to do). Distant rendering, LoD, memory management are all terrible. Maybe they will sell us upgrades for those on the Store.

the circle of life, any game will get boring at a certain moment... the moment now came for you... still sad to see people leave a (to me still) good game, have fun in RL or your next game..

I too, have unsubbed. I have found myself complaining constantly and decided that the best thing to do is withdraw. In my case I think it is a mix of the current unstableness and the dissappointment in the latest additions and plain weariness - I have played too much and too often and I need a break. So...I will be premium for a while. See, even with dissappointment and dissatifaction and problems and complaints, I still love this game. I plan on resubbing as soon as I recapture some of the joy.

Meh, it's all farming these days, I can understand that there's nothing special going on atm and that it's a bit frustrating.
I try to ignore GLFF because of the constant Barrow and BOE farm runs and play a few instances randomly.

As with all the "Goodby cruel Middle-earth!" posts, the OP will be back (or will in fact never leave). Those who want to leave simply leave without doing a "Hey, everyone, look at me!" post.

This is the thing, right there. It seems like Turbine doesn't care if they lose a few old-timers here and there, as long as they still have the masses of newcomers to get money from. But maybe they aren't considering the domino effect of losing veteran players. The social side of LotRO is way more significant than i've seen in the other games i've played. My friends have left, are leaving, and every time it happens it takes a little more enjoyment away for me. Just over a week ago, a kin mate and long-time friend deleted all of his characters and is just gone, out of frustration over all of the new changes. Like you said, the game feels empty when your friends leave.

And the friends I have in the game is the only reason I still play. There are superior games out there that deliver a superior game playing experience and I find myself playing them more and more often. I come back for raid nights and pop in to run a few things just to keep up with my peeps. If my friends were'nt playing, I'd not really miss the game.

That's pretty much how all MMO's operate. They need a revolving door on customers, otherwise the MMO would die off. That and catering to the instant gratification crowd is how they survive. I usually avoid MMO's like the plague but there is a severe lack of single player RPG's on the market right now.

That's how I feel as well, I would have left the game for good a long time ago if it weren't for the great people I met. Though, to be perfectly honest, I am finding it harder to just log in LotRO right now. I'd rather just log straight on Mumble and chat while I play my game of choice.

Recently I had been feeling the same way, my friends would almost never come on, I had all end game gear and was bored, moors and some farming of barrows I had gotten into because BfE got older than I could bear after run 100..I already did t2 for all new raids and instances...

What I did was because of my recent switch to VIP, I had planned it so that it would give me the last 2 character slots to have 9, which all you need because it covered every class, started a hunter and captain, was on my captain at level 12 or some such nonsense then....I got an invite from a kin, I thought about it, but the name was creative so I accepted...What I found was amazing, a group of people trying to grow their kin, from a low level, I was the only one with a character above 46, (I having an 85, 46, 41, and other alts) and for some reason it brought back he memories from when I first started, and how much fun it was getting there. I felt this need to help them experience it as I did, and I guess you could say renewed my vigor for this game, because come on guys, it was one update. The other half will be interesting at least, if not better, and the trip getting there is more then half the fun.

Good luck birdone, I hope you find other adventures. I agree with you, and the sparkle of this game has tarnished for me recently. I'm just not ready to leave Middle Earth to it's fate yet.

Do they now. Thanks for your insight on knowing the minds of 'those who leave'.
