Do Lotteries work now?

I saw there was a new Lottery today, and tried to enter it. I have done this several times now since the site revamp. I hit "Submit", and nothing seemed to happen - no confirmation of entry, or any change at all in the UI. Has anyone been successful at entering a Lottery, and is the Submit button actually good for anything at all?

Are you sure? Considering the very major and obvious revamp of the entry page we just launched and how several people have stated it makes it much more clear, I'm surprised.

i entered the most recent lottery (yes, my thread about it was deleted ). upon submitting my name the interface seemed to indicate that my submission was successful. the character name turned green and the check box stayed check.

edit - upon checking the page says i have not won any lotteries yet.

You have to select some characters first. (Mark the checkboxes)

The site structure, page layout and design of EVERY page is no different now than it was 3 days ago

There has been no lottery listed since 06/08/13 and I have logged in DAILY

The ONLY change I see is the re-appearance of the Log-in button on the top-right of the screen

Your thread was not deleted. Please try checking the appropriate forums and making posts there in the future. It was moved to this forum which is specifically for discussion of the Forums, Lottery, and Community site.

The lotteries are VERY explicit. If the page say there are no active lotteries, then that means there are no lotteries. There is absolutely no ambiguity any more.

If there are any lotteries running at all, then you will see them even if you do not have characters that can enter them. You will simply be unable to enter them. The description will tell you what level, class, race, server, etc is required to enter that lottery so that too will be very, very obvious why you cannot enter if that's the case.

It seems to be working fine for me with the Flash Lottery that's up for 30 minutes right now. I checked 'deselect/select all' and it checked all my characters and then when I hit submit it displayed the entries.

Bummer that you missed them! Several of my alts won the Perlino steed in that quick lottery. (Of course, not my steed collector, but that's par for the course)

It works nicely, too.

11/12 characters of my accounts do show up.
But my level 15 alt, Warden on Brandywine, created about a month ago, is still not shown. Should I get worried, or do I just need to wait patiently?

2 more of my toons that had been 'missing' showed up in the lotteries list as well today. Woot. I just a level 85 captain on brandywine missing now.

I'm sorry. let me try again, the entry page. The page you use to enter your characters into a lottery. Has been revamped. You can now tell, very easily, which characters are and which are not entered into a lottery.

There have been TWO lotteries today. I'm sorry to hear you missed them.

So are all the lotteries just short term? I checked this morning early and there were no lotteries, and now you are saying there have been two today? How long is a lottery up? Do we have to have this window open all the time and check it every hour for a chance to enter a lottery? Ever since the change I have only seen one lottery. It seems like they are all short term, only up for 30 min now?

They've only been 30 minutes today because they're testing them (I missed them so far today as well). They had a couple of longer ones (about a day or so long) last week, I believe.

So the answer is yes, the lotteries DO work! I won with two of my toons earlier today. I guess the issue I was having is this - when I click Submit, I don't really see anything that obviously shows I entered said Lotteries. Some text saying "You have successfully entered the Lottery" or something would be really helpful.

They seem to be working for me. Only issue I see is that several characters are not shown at their correct level.

I had one character (out of 9) win the Lottery of the Ball of Power on 08AUG and I got a clean sweep
(9 out of 9 winners!) on today's Flash Test with the Rabbit mask.

The only thing I see out of place is that the levels of the characters are wrong. It looks like the
character data is being pulled from the my.lotro data that was frozen back in April. This probably
explains why folks with newly created characters aren't seeing them in the lotteries.

This is actually a very long standing issue with lottery character data 'sticking' at various points and needing a kick here and there to get moving again. I'll see what I can do.

Another lottery has started. I clicked "Select/deselect all characters " and all my toons were marked. I then clicked "Submit". The webpage flashed but then came back exactly the way it was - there is no indication whether your "Submit" has been accepted or not. Maybe that is what others in this thread are mentioning?

Yay, I got to enter a lottery for today. I mostly was interested in seeing the visual tweaks to the page. I really like it! Much easier to tell who's been entered. Thanks! Also very pleased to see that my newest character is listed.

It was kind of strange to see. Then it had prizes on the next refresh.

Both characters I've recently transferred (one right before transfers were closed, one this past Friday) are showing multiple times. Meaning it shows one entry for each character being on the original server and another for the server I transferred to. Not sure if this actually enters me twice per character or not, just passing it along.
