Today's small changes - 8-20-13

Most of today's changes are behind the scenes, but here are a few you should notice.

• The auto-log out has been increased to 6 hours (instead of 45 minutes).
• The lottery now makes it very clear which characters you have entered into each lottery.
• The site was not properly emailing things like subscribed thread notices and private message notices. These should be fixed (there is a huge back log to catch up first).
• The dev tracker should now show posts from more forums.

Just got an email for PM from saturday.

But I am missing some clear notice of now messages here in the forums. Enabled the "popup" notification, but hav never seen one.
(forget this comment, if today's patch added some functionality, I have no new message at the moment. )

There is still at least one issue I bugged outstanding.

The "Forum" (and Home icon) links in the breadcrumbs (e.g. Home - Forum - General Discussion) still take you to the Activity Page, not the Forum Index.

This could be WAI, but as the link goes to index.php, I am rather surprised to see it redirect to activity.php.

These links are the quickest way to get back to the main index page, and on the old forums they did indeed go to the index page, so I'm still thinking that it is a bug. (Of course, they do also apparently provide the only link that gets you to the Activity Page, so any fix would also need to address that as well.)

Much better. Now if we could just get that extended to a few days or a full week. That would be comparable to other MMO forums.

I think it's a decent compromise. You will still get logged out. You don't get a 'remember me' option. It's just that you can browse, go do some work, and come back without having to log back in.

Yes, thank you very much for this. I think 6 hours is a nice compromise between those of us who like to pop in and out of the forums and the security "enthusiasts" that that Sapience is trying to save us from.

Thank you VERY much. 6 hours is far more user friendly. I noticed a number of emails today so it seems the email engine is catching up nicely too.

I didn't get around to posting a thank you for the lottery display when not logged in (I had gotten logged out while posting which is a much rarer occurence now). It looks great.

Thank you for the dev tracker, was wondering why some posts were not showing up there. The green check beside toons entered is a HUGE improvement, my thanks for that.

I agree 100%, it's so much clearer now to see green boxes beside each character that has entered, and separate sections for Entered Characters vs. Available Characters.

Thanks for doing this update! It's a big quality of life improvement.
