    Bounder's Bounties Server Totals

I figured other people would like to know how other servers are doing, so... here's a list of how each server is doing in the Bounder's Bounty collecting!

Please report for your server here from time to time. You can check how many bounties your server has by hovering over the statue beside the barter hobbits in Michel Delving.

I will do my best to update this at least once a day, though some days of course I may be busier than others.

Now new and improved with time of the update! (use /servertime when reporting time, which is EST; otherwise posting time will be used. Estimated times marked with a tilde)

With a server now completed, now there's a to-be-filled-column with rankings! WW = Worldwide, CM = codemasters, NA = Turbine's servers before the integration of the CM servers.

    Some information:

Turbine Dev EdgeCase commented on the low drop rate and hinted at what to expect for the future here: https://www.lotro.com/forums/showthr...67#post6888067. Amlug posted about the increased drop-rate here: https://www.lotro.com/forums/showthr...87#post6890387 These drop rates seem to have decreased with the Farmer's Faire.

They drop from mobs in the landscape, in skirmishes, and in group instances of all sizes. They come from hobbit gift boxes and lootboxes as well. They drop in bundles of 5 coins to 70 coins from the landscape, quests, etc but seem to go up to 100 or 250 in the large bags from hobbit presents.

For more information on prizes, lore background, as well as a a visual graph updated roughly every 24 hours, please see https://www.lotro.com/forums/showthr...onations-Graph.

    Good luck to you all!

1.75 million seems to be a huge total to reach, but then again, time will only tell.

Any idea how many tokens are needed to unlock the personal vendor? I couldn't find the number in-game.

Been trying for tokens since the servers went up, zero between two toons. This is pretty disappointing.

@zalladi- personal vendors seem to be opened immediately, whenever you have the right amount of coins. You can turn them in only in stacks of 50, so that's 35,000 individual turn ins. I do not know how fast that will be; both servers I play on are not at 1000 yet.

    Now the bad news.
I picked up the quest. I expected, like with the 2008 server-wide effort, for the drops to be fairly common, especially since there's 50 of them. I figured you'd see them in bundles of 5 or 10.
    I killed ~20 humanoid grey mobs (75/76)
    I killed ~60 on-level (85) huorns and wood trolls.
    I finally killed ~60 level 83 humanoids

    Not one token dropped.

If this whole thing is going to be purely rng based, consider my enthusiasm for the project fallen considerably. That leaves a terrible taste in my mouth. If someone can prove it's otherwise, please tell me. Otherwise... well, what a complete and utter disappointment. RNG does not equal fun, especially for something as massive as a server wide effort. Until a non-RNG route is provided I will not be going out of my way for this.

I will, however, update the original OP as numbers come in...

I cannot agree more. I just managed to get lucky with the hobbit present to give me 25 tokens, but since then, with nearly 100 mobs and 2 instances run, no other tokens yet. Though a small test number, it still doesn't look good.

No drops for me either. Sure would like to get that mount tho...

Some of the rewards look nice, the usual cosmetics but what annoyed me was the jewellery being max level stuff. The universal toolkit looks a bit cheap but I'd like to see an XP disabler in there too.

    We can dream I guess

I'm fairly certain this is the exact intention. This is a passive event, something you do when you get the tokens to do it, not an active event like the Farmer's Faire and other such things. You're not supposed to 'go out of your way' to do it.

Whether that is a good way to do it is another matter entirely. Personally I couldn't care less either way, but I can see why people would dislike it.

At least they didn't tie HD's release to the server wide collection like WoW did with Ahn' Qiraj (although the opening event itself was pretty amazing)...it will be interesting to see how many servers unlock it before the release though.

I agree with this. Plus, it's supposed to run through the arrival of Helm's Deep, I believe, so the token droprate is likely set low so that the totals don't grow too quickly. I don't know what kind of calculations they made given that servers vary in size, but the goal would be reached too soon if tokens flowed like task items.

I agree. It's reasonable for Turbine to start out with a very low drop rate.

Plus, since the tokens are an account-shared currency, if you collect more than 50 on one character, you can turn in more on another character on the same server.

Each server needs 35,000 turn-ins of 50 tokens each. If 300 characters turn in tokens each day, they can reach the goal before winter begins. (Helm's Deep will presumably still launch sometime in Fall 2013.)

Turbine can always turn up the drop rate later if it looks like the goals won't be met in time.

This whole update was a joke imho. I have never been so disappointed in an update by turbine (most of that doesn't apply to this thread though). I know some people who have claimed to killed on a handful of mobs and got several drops and i know i killed easily between 250-300 mobs at least in wildermore and not ONE drop. I guess i just have horrible luck. TBH if drop rates were going to be so hit and miss then I would have preferred that the Bounder Bounties were not included at all.

If the drop rates are similar to what a purple or teal item drops in an instance, I can see I'll get about 1 or 2 tokens over the months this thing runs, as my number generator results are abysmal. Good to know in advance that I shouldn't waste any time on this.

I updated the numbers for the servers I got. I'll check this thread late tonight about 12 EST.

The thought of it being passive rather than active is an interesting thought. While I am still disappointed in its implementation, I do appreciate the different view points as well as the knowledge that they are bound to account.

Grey mobs do drop them as well. I heard of one dropping from a skirmish. I do not know if they drop in group instances.

I hope their implementation in the Farmer's Faire makes them a bit more easier to get for the 'active' players, so to speak, especially those of us who are just not leveling toons at the moment.

    Eldar 250 tokens so far

250 kills while questing on level in East Wall and Norcrofts, not a single drop.

Drop rate is too low to get me interested in leveling my alts. Going back to the other mmos I have been playing. It is clear that since they drop from the Hobbit slot machine this is really all about having a rate set low enough people will get frustrated and buy mithril coins for extra spins as a way to try and get tokens. Not working with me.

I haven't been trying, but a run through Iserngraf on one character netted me 5.

The drop rate does seem to be very low, consider anyone who wants the Michel Delving steed at 1,500 tokens that is available on the second vendor after the 1,750,000 target has been reached. That is an awful lot of tokens to be found, I would have expected to be getting the odd one or two fairly reguarly from drops (like the Tin/Silver etc. Anniversary Tokens).

As for a server wide buff on reaching the target all I can say is "Meh" still aint worth my effort.

I spent an hour and a half beating the living daylights out of the Brigands and Goblins in Dwaling and the nearby Goblin camp and did not receive a single token.

I just hope these tokens are not going to be tied to repeatable festival quests as I stopped grinding those years ago to save my sanity.
