    All Class Mounts Pack

First, I've been looking for this to buy with TP for a long time. (not sure if an option now today, but glad to see it in the marketplace).

Now, for the price... Mounts have been extremely overpriced since inception. Even though buying these 9 steeds (account bound) is the same price as buying them for a single toon... its still $150.00 for in game skins.

While I'm sure you have some edge cases, this price seems very silly for 100% cosmo items.

IMHO, at that price, you need to include the following:

All mount dye unlocks (account wide)
    Journeyman riders package.
Should likely include ALL store exclusive mounts.

Asking people to drop $150.00 and not gain any content seems like a stretch. Providing more "toys" such as speed boosts and dyes that can be configured, and actually make a gameplay change might tempt some folks to buy this. For a total package like I'm suggesting... I might feel tempted for that price. Asking someone to trade 3 AAA launch titles for some cosmo just ends up with me shaking my head no matter how many times I look at it. Of course this is all IMHO.

I also definitely agree that the current bundle for $150 is rather steep. I'd say it's about $100 over-priced. This should AT LEAST include the Journeyman Riding trait.

When I first saw this offer for $150, I was expecting to click it and read something like "includes every mount ever created for LOTRO"... but after finding out that it only includes the 9 class mounts I was very unpleasantly surprised...

It's almost twice the price of the all quest packs bundle. That speaks for itself.

If you were to buy the individual steeds with TP it would cost far more than twice the price of buying all the questpacks with TP.

Remember those horses normally cost 1995 TP. Each. Per character!

If you had five characters and wanted to buy all the steeds for each of the characters you would need to spend 5 * 9 * 1995 = 89775 TP which is about $500 worth of TP.

If you look at it that way the bundle isn't all that expensive.

Yeah, if you look at it that way then of course it's a good deal. But who needs all 9 steeds on every character they make?

Certainly not me, but I am sure there a few people out there who would very much want exactly that.

Actually that would be $897.75. Turbine has stated that for tax purposes, 100 TP = $1.00. So really if you only had one character and wanted all the class mounts for him/her, you'd still save almost $30 doing it this way.

It's even a good deal if you only want some of the horses on some of your characters. You're basically paying for ~8 horses total and getting the rest free (where "the rest" is a full set of 9 horses on every character on that account). Obviously not a bargain if you only want to buy a few horses (or, like me, have no interest in paying cash for mounts), but I'd imagine there are people who will buy it.

It's sort of like the 23,000 points for $199.99 offer - I think it's completely bat&&&& crazy, but it probably makes sense to somebody.

If you have all the horses, you also have all the Warsteed appearances for these Class mounts too, right?

    (it's still too expensive)

Yes. It will also grant the equivalent warsteed appearances.

That is the best value bundle out there, you get the most TP for you $$$ that way. When they first put that out there almost 2 years ago at Christmas, I jumped (especially since they were running a double bonus point thing which bumped it up to 25,000 TP total I think). I haven't had to buy points since between the monthly stipend, the bonus amounts for pre-ordering expansions and deeds.... And I've bought every single store only mount during this time as well.

I think this bundle should be priced about the same as the "All Quests Pack" (79.99). It's too expensive for just a mount bundle. At it's current price, I'd probably purchase the bundle if it came with the journeyman riding trait, and account wide warsteed colors.

I find it amusing that people will compare the bundle cost to the excessively overpriced individual price and actually think "it isn't all that expensive".

Do people actually spend this kind of cash on mounts? Out of all the store mounts ever sold i have maybe seen 1 or 2 on my server.... And i love mounts, so i know i would notice....

Mounts for me are what titles are for others... Recognition of ones achievement... Thats why i treasure my meta deed goats more then anything in the game... And ill never buy a store mount....

1995tp for one mount has always been ludicrous... IMO a fair price would be 500tp and not a point over that...

I saw the package available, clicked the link hoping it included them for all characters on account, it did...but then saw the price. No set of cosmetic pixels is worth that kind of money, not even close.

I'm certain this offer will appeal to some hardcore collectors.

    Then don't buy....

This package is for the die hard mount collectors who have many alts and or play on multiple servers.

Turbine is not the only company who charges allot for mounts.

What I would like to see is individual mounts for sale in this fashion.

When you look at it your paying little over 16.00 per mount which is account wide. That's cheaper then what WOW charges.

Does anyone know if this package delivers all of the steeds to future characters also? I ask because sometimes the Turbine ad states "...for all current and future characters on all accounts" and sometimes they do not. All the current ad states is "All items will be delivered to every character on your account." Just looking for clarification so an informed decision can be made.

Thanks in advance for the help.

I think the only case where "every character" does not include future characters is with VIP unlocks. Of course that's just an educated guess for this case, no way I'd pay this kind of money (or any amount of real-cash) for a purely visual change that would only be seen 10% of the time (optimistic guess).
Used to play: 85 Champ / Captain / Runekeeper / Guardian, Guild Master of everything but cooking.
Playing now: Hellcat / King Tiger / GW Panther / IS / KV-5 / M4 Sherman and more

I would think that that the mount pack would include all characters on the account even the ones yet to be created as long as they belong to the account that this package was applied to.
Now I have multiple accounts and I would be tempted to make this purchase if it were applied to all accounts registered under my user name.

There should me some consideration to those of us who pay to have multiple accounts open...

It seems that most items in the store will eventually go on sale in one form or another. I am looking to see when they offer a 30% discount to this package. A price around a $100 seems more reasonable even if the value is worth the $150 asking price. However, it is hard to establish value for virtual goods...

Yeah, but at the end of the day you're still putting a virtual value onto a virtual item. Apparently, Turbine feels this is a fair price to offer such a thing... whether the players will find it to be a fair price, that's another story.

As the saying goes, "To each, His own"...
Really attractive package, really tough price point.
In the end, I gave in to the account-wide shinies. Never would've had access to all these "skins" based on TP alone and the dyeable war steed gear options are always nice.
I found myself in the Check Out twice before I finally caved and clicked "Submit" and yes, for the price, some additional throw-ins (as suggested somewhere above in this thread) would've made it an easier purchase.
In the end, I've wanted the Class Steeds for my alts for some time now. The TP price for the steeds combined with the narrow scope of purchase (i.e. just for the character completing the transaction) always kept me from spending the points.
    Cha-ching.
I'm past the sticker shock now though and happy to have my goodies.

Not for everyone, that's for sure. I assume Turbine knows that when they put these kinds of packages in the store. Kind of a diamond-level item, ya know?
