If a Malledhrim Soldier dies alone in the forest because of canceled quest, will it make a sound? ~Leixy
Took me a few years, but I renewed my signature :)
I will try to get one client patched (from that, I can copy/paste over backups). After that, I continue with my regularly scheduled program.

"Do or do not. There is no try." -- Yoda
On planet Earth, there is a try.
Indeed, in a world and life full of change, the only constant is human nature (A is A, after all :P).
We old vets need to keep in mind those who come after us.
What i do on a launch day:
- If i don't get up at 6:00 AM my friend bird that live on the guava tree beside my bedroom jump on my window & start jumping around & singing till i get up to give him seeds. He always win...
- Ussually when i wake up i find my lizard friend napping over my chest.
- Next i go to the kitchen & put the water to boil for my sweet choco-moca-late & prepare me a ham & cheese panini then put in toaster.
- While the water boil i take a warm shower.
- By then my grandma is awake so i give her her meal while i eat my breakfast.
- Then take my clothes & drow them on the laundry machine.
- Turn in the laptop, check the world news, recently released movies, several science magazines until the washer is done.
- Next i do some room cleaning.
- When done i play that "other game" for a bit till i get bored then i log off & see a movie.
- After is over i go for a walk & play with my dogs.
- By the time im back is afternoon & maybe the game is back.
I'll probably try and get some big battles in, run round the landscape wildly going 'ooh isn't it pretty'. Then die when I run off a cliff I didn't notice 'cause Ii was looking at the flowers.
Oh and fighting for resource nodes of course.
Which is essentially just two group instances, as nobody will advertise GC 2/3 when they can just duo it.
There's one six-person (HD) and one raid size (DW).
So don't get all excited that there's five battles when there's really just two, and a bunch of solo/duo repeatable quest instances, or you'll really be disappointed with what you paid for, and upset with Turbine for deceiving you again.

I think I'll start off with staring blankly at my new skill icons and altered and rebooted legendary items for about an hour. Then I hop on the questing railroad track all the way to station 95 and hope I learned enough to effectively start the endlevel grind.
I'm generally working on launch days, so I spend the evening when I get home patching then the next day I make up my mind whether I want to hop on my level capped character or work on one of the lower level ones.
Work in progress...
After talking off work on a couple launch days, I've learned that I am better off working that day (while my wife is kind enough to get the patch downloading). By the time I get home from work, I can log in and start playing. I take the FOLLOWING day off so I can stay up all night and enjoy the new content (usually focus on Epics first).
Jacobar (Burglar, main) Eryendil (Minstrel) Justinius (Captain) and lots of alts, Ring Guard of Rivendell on Gladden (originally from Elendilmir)
Sadly, I'm not going to be able to take that day or the following day off. We're getting a new system in at the hospital which means I get to learn how to do everything so I can then turn around and train everyone else. Because apparently someone higher up than me decided just because I know how to print screen, I'm qualified to train others. Quite clearly, someone has lost their mind.
Work in progress...
When an expansion goes live, I spend a several days doing quests in the previous level cap content that I put on hold when I reached level cap. So I'll be running around Sutcrofts and Wildermore levelling up to 86-87 before I seriously head into the new content.
I'll alternate this with forays into the new lands to harvest the next tier of crafting mats and to start tucking into slayer deeds before doing any quests. See if I can get any useful 3rd age LIs from the humanoids and hides from the rest. Build up task items for turn in as well. The crest of the population wave will be halfway through the new content before I get into it, and all the serious bugs documented on the forums so that I can avoid or work around them.
The Lag is so bad I saw Sara Oakheart outrun someone - kickman77

Arkenstone (ex-Elendilmir) - The Osgiliath Guard - http://www.theoldergamers.com
I usually fire up the patcher.
When that's done I read the forums a bit.
Then, after realizing the new starting zone for the new content is usually more crowded than a shopping mall on the day after Thanksgiving, I fire up DDO and watch my sorcerer get beat up for the rest of the day.![]()
Normally I schedule vacation for a few days and race my main to get to the new level cap and into the content.
Not bothering this year.
I'd explain it to you, but I'm all out of Puppets and Crayons.

GLADDEN: Moochy, 105 Minstrel R10 + alts CRICKHOLLOW: Moochy, 21 Minstrel
This will be the first expansion where I'll have a character at level cap....assuming I get my lvl 81 Warden to lvl cap by the time it's released!
That said, I'm excited this will be my first and no doubt I won't be sensible and I'll be there on the starting line with all the other 85s and it will all end in tears..![]()
On the expansion day I always log in my current main toon and quest (no XP buffs, but trying to level as fast as I can completing all quests). Before going to sleep on that day I may log a few other toons to spend LI points and check the new guild recipes.
This time I guess it will be different...
1) I will stare at the trait trees for a while.
2) It is likely that LI legacies will be changes according the class changes, so maybe I will not like what I have? I will stare at my LIs for a while.
3) I may want to try Big Battles before any leveling. Specially the duo version with my husband.
After that - questing it is![]()
Ishtarien - Captain
Ishtara - Beorning | Ishtari - Rune Keeper | Ishtarel - Hunter
Lunasa - Minstrel | Cabernetta - Guardian | Ishtaridas - Lore Master | + many more
Eldar -> Evernight
I usually wait a few days for everyone to figure out where everything is at to make my leveling experience that much easier.
(Translation: I have 3 kids ages 3 and under and I don't have the time to login until the following weekend.)
I typically do not even try to log in for at least a week when an expansion hits and if the forum is full of raging about serious bugs, I wait until the first bug patch comes out. I feel not need to rush through the new content. I play other games and have other hobbies as well.
Well i happen to have that week off of work, by coinsedence and not by planning by it :-).
Also my little nephew will come over to visit and i will have to do some gardening to get ready for the winter, so i won't have much time to play at launch day but prob a few days after that like thursday or friday.
Probably gonna watch a movie and go to bed early, 1 or 2 days after launch i might dare logging in :P
Nothing here matters.
What i do on a launch day:
1. Wake up and start espresso machine up for my mocha
2. Check forums on my guild (Helm's Deep @ Meneldor) whom I haven't raided with in 5 months.
3. Check lotro Dev tracker forums
4. *sigh* that there is still no sign of meaningful challenging raid content in lotro
5. Go back to playing Rift where T2 content consists of 2 challenging brand new 20 person raids a challenging 10 person raid and another set of the same configuration of T1 raids to play when we get bored.
6. PvP in Conquest and warfronts what provide many varied game types
7. Have fun playing Rift online with my guild friends until I realize it's time to go to bed
8. One last check on the lotro forums. Nope. Same stuff after 5 months. No reason to go back yet.
