Can't seem to get the /shortcut 25 /follow to work. Can someone help me please?
Sooo, i just leveled a hobbit burglar to lvl6 and finished the introduction quests with the intention of using him as a mule.
I get to the vault keeper in the hobbit beginning town, and she's empty, whereas, on my hunter, she's damn near full.
Do I have to find someone i trust to transfer items to a mule, or am i missing something? For example, how do people pass crafting ingredients to alts if vault keepers aren't shared for all your characters on your account?
Dismass - Hobbit Burg - Windfola
If you don't have a trusted friend all you can do is mail the items to your alt.

Knightmayre, Temp3r and Carfilhiot,
Thank you for your contributions!
(List uses single spaces between numbers now by request, let me know if this makes it easier to read!)
I suggest
/who playername 1 50
Where the 1 is lowest level and 50 is highest level you expect the player to be 1 50 will check every level currently possible for the name. If you leave the numbers out if automatically scales the level range to 3 above and below your level.
I think the idea behind having your own horse is for the general over all speed things up however stable travel is probably the preferred method for long distance travel. After level 20 its probably no big thing to spend money at the stables to travel anyways so its just a matter or preference more than anything.
What does one need to be able to use BT ear piece for voice chat? I have a BT headset i use with my cell phone. Is it possible to use it with something on my PC for voice chat? If so what do I need on my PC to do so?
Escort Quests...
Keep in front of the NPC you are escorting. Usually, when the baddies spawn, they will attack the nearest player, provided he is closer than the escorted NPC. It will be much easier to keep your charge alive if you draw aggro first. This means that you DO NOT have time to loot corpses. Finish the quest and then go back to loot.
There are many USB Bluetooth adapters on the market. Just plug one in and pair it up. Newer laptops are coming with BT built in as well.
4. Using /follow on a selected node will cause you to auto approach it. You can slot this using /shortcut.. ~From Istuilhos
Please explain this... the shortcut/slotting thing...
There's an excellent Alias and Shortcut Guide that shows you all the details. Basically if you sayyou create a shortcut in your Quickbar 1 that you can drag anywhere. Then with one keystroke you can approach an object, npc, player or enemy.Code:/shortcut 15 /follow
Nice, and thanks for the link.
Enabling Skill Target Forwarding in the options menu will also cause this, without hitting any keys or switching targets around during combat. As long as everyone is playing nice and looking at the right targets, you will be able to just target your bear or the mob, and do damage or heal skills as much as you want. If the skill being used doesn't apply to your target, it will go to your target's target. So if you try to use a damage skill on your bear, it will hit the mob instead if your bear has the mob targeted. If you have the mob targeted, and use heal on it, it will hit your bear as long as the mob has your bear targeted.
He spoke of "Fast Travel." Fast travel is not the same as what you are talking about. With Fast Travel, you get on the horse, ride a short distance, zone to a short distance from the destination stable, then ride the rest of the way to the destination stable. In the trips you are discussing, you actually ride the horse the whole way. Thus, they are not fast travel.

Single letter shortcuts are:
/f for Fellowship chat
/k for Kinship chat
/l for LookingForFellowship channel
/o for Kinship Officer chat (also /ko and /officer)
You can also use:
/advice for Advice channel
/trade for Trade (/auction, too ?)
/ooc for Out of Character Chat
/ra for Raid chat
For at least some of the above (likely only the single character forms), there is an interesting usage feature. If you type a slash followed by the lower case letter for the channel, as soon as you type a space, the default chat channel will change to that one. So if you are in Fellowship chat and type /k then a space, your default will change from Fellowship to Kinship. However, if you use an upper case letter, the default channel will not change.
So if you are in Fellowship chat and type "/K I will be on at noon tomorrow," the message will go to Kinship without changing your default. But "/k I will be on at noon tomorrow," will both send the message and change your default channel to Kinship.

Buying crafted armor is wise, because you can resell said armor when you no longer need it (as it will not bind). While some armor is more expensive, especially purples, you can recoup some/all of this money and depending on the market when you sell it, even profit from it after you used it.

5/5 stars, I am a level 24 Hobbit Burglar and I played in the Open Beta (Founder) and there are some things I didn't know that are on this thread. I need to explore the client more![]()
Thanks!

2. You don't need to be at a vendor to lock items. Remap your keys to assign a short cut to the function. Select an item and then use the shortcut to toggle the lock. ~From Makkilmakkil
I might have missed the full explanation for this one. What is the /shortcut function?
Don't know if this is included but:
Quests:
If you right click on the quest tracker "ring", an option to "Find others who have this quest" is displayed

If I may completely reword that one:
To lock an item while not at a vendor, do the following. In Options->Key mapping, scroll down until you see "Lock Item," and bind a key to it. Then, with your inventory open, select an item via alt-leftclick. You'll know an item is selected when it has a bold yellow border and its name is in the 'selected entity' box to the right of your stat bars, where a monster's info or 'Door' would appear when selected. Some inventory spots get buggy, and cannot be alt-leftclicked. Move the item to a new slot if that's the case.
With the item selected, press your bound key. A tiny lock icon should appear in the bottom, left-hand corner of the item's icon. Click anywhere in the world to clear the selection.
