    Cool Thanks Turbine!

No, Im not being sarcastic. This is a great expansion. Maybe I am biased in favor of the trait trees because I play an LM but I really feel they will add a new strategic aspect to the game. As for the Westemnet, I can't wait to keep exploring it tomorrow. Big battles? Stoked on that too.

Just wanted to express appreciation in contrast to all of the hate. You guys continuing to bring us a good product. Tolkien would be proud!

If you don't agree with me, go rant in your respective GLFF. Lets keep this thread positive

Thumbs up for Turbine! I enjoy the new trait trees, and HD is beautiful, also the music is on par as well.

The trees are broken for several classes, but I really see potential on them if the devs finally decide to walk down from their pedestal and accept some suggestions, and stop ending all their interactions with us with "This is going to stay like this. Period."
Being a Trading-Card Game player, I recognize the extra 'strategic', before combat, gameplay added with the trait trees, where you must build your 'deck' of skills from the pool of available ones, and then try it out until you find one you feel confortable with. Maybe even customizing it for particular encounters, instead of having single build forever.
...Only that now the decks aren't so much customizable...
But fear not! All these things that "are going to stay like this. Period." will end taking the way of Radiance and Gloom. I bet it.

Also, Epic Battles have really grown on me. They are at least definitely much better than skirmishes, with more stuff to do, more advancement achieved, that will get better them more you play them as you unlock higher promotions.

A lot of daring changes made to the game. I really need to congratulate the devs for the courage of attempting all this.
...If only the results would have been more polished...

I like the Lore Master, too
he is actuel the one Character i have that feels improved, maybe because he don´t lose so many skills if he is not skilled

for my Runekeeper and Champion: they actuel feel like someone has ripped out there hearts only to hit it into there faces (for the champion more than for the runi)

the only thing i really don´t like is the absolute discouragement of hybridization like the 2 point penelty in the side trees or that you dont get set bonis from these,
and that for some classes so many of there old skills are scattered around in different trees

I guess the Lore-Master is so enjoyable because he has a trait-tree instead of the skill-tree my other classes have.

I am also loving my LM, the DPS is fantastic and I feel much faster than pre-expansion.

Safe to say I haven't got the hang of Big Battles yet though…

I second that. I support this expansion at 100%. There are some minor things that can be tweaked in the future, nothing is perfect after all.

I agree - I'm having a lot of fun, but a bit of a buff for the landscape mobs would make it even better, especially the elite ones.
The Balrog lives!! Oh, and give MECCG a try.

I logged in the forums today to say those exact same words: thank you Turbine, for delivering an awesome expansion. The Epics, the overall quests, the regions, the landscape, the characters... I'm in love with them all. Can't wait to log in the game today and continue from where I left off yesterday, when I fell asleep over my keyboard. I'm really like the trait trees too. I wish I could take some time to do some mix-and-match, but there's so much to do and to see in West Rohan that I'm as busy as I could ever be -- and loving it.

there is absolutely no challenge with this expansion. Its a joke how easy it is. I don't know how that can be a "great expansion". its a cashgrab. Its not turbine's fault, but it is what is. No instances/raids, no 95pvmp armour, a ridiculously easy and barren landscape with weak npc's, OP freep dps, no FA's, simplified classes, no dungeons. AKA, it is designed for you to breeze through with no contention. I am bored to death with it.

I do not care for the trees at all. I have played four years now and these new trees are just a joke. You don't get to choose your class skills anymore, they are just forced upon you by having to select a spec line instead of being able to choose the seven traits you want. Then when you get to the trees, anything outside of your spec line costs double to select. I think what they really wanted was just to skip even allowing us to choose at all but the trees are just a bone thrown at us in hopes we don't see they just don't care about us anymore or the game really. My opinion. The next expansion, all we will get to choose is the spec line we want. There will be no trees to choose from. What comes in the spec line is what you get, period!

Thank you Turbine for choosing for me because you apparently know what I want more than I know what I want.

Well for my first post (long time lurker) I have to say I agree! I'm having a great time with the new trees. My Champ, RK, and Hunter are in a great spot. The new animations are awesome and faster combat is just plain fun. Looking forward to all the new content, but for now so excited that I'm rolling new characters and starting all over again.

    Thanks devs!

I'm loving my guard with the new skill set. I do not miss all those extra skills I never used. Is the tree system perfect? No, it isn't, but what system in an MMO is?

It's a decent expansion, I even like the skill trees.

But the level of difficulty now is a complete joke, I hope they are going to buff mobs or something. It's kinda ruining the game for me.

Ok, I will say get that you do not like the trees. But here is some relevant information that may help ease your pain.

    1. No instances / Raids... We have a new system called Epic Battles, sure they arent the classic type, but they are a new type of instance. Also raids usually do not come out on launch day they usually come with a update a few month's later. I wonder if you were around when Siege of Mirkwood launched with this new thing called Skirmishes if you felt the same way?

    2. No new PvMP armor. I will agree with you that this is a major oversight that needs to be fixed quickly.

    3. Weak NPC's, maybe our dps will be adjusted. I personally think it will. I remember when Isengard launched my dps was much higher as well.

    4. No first agers. Again these never come with an expansion, always an update later. It gives us something new to work towards a few months from now. If they gave us everything now, in 3 months there would be moaning that there is nothing to do.

    5. No dungeons. See reply number 1.

As far as a cash grab, Turbine is a business and needs to make money to keep making the game. So.. for them to make money they have to charge money for the product. I do not see that as a cash grab, I see that as basic economics.

    Hope this info helped.

This is being addressed in Update 12.1. Before you ask, think in terms of weeks not months.

Despite a bit of trepidation on my part, overall a very nice roll out by Turbine. I am quite happy with my new RK and find that I don't mind the skill trees at all. Only negative for me is having to fork out 800 TP to buy 100 Mithril coins to open a 3rd spec, but even that I can work around by rolling a new character and TP burning, deleting, re-making, rinse and repeat as necessary. Good job.
