Now, as a suggestion, which may or may not be tricky, these sorts of things 'could' become random rare world events. I know similar ideas have been put forward before like Bree being attacked etc. The reason I bring it up as a suggestion is that you are basically doing the same kind of event, but manually, well, having the Hobbit /follow someone! So there 'could' be a path the Hobbit could follow

Would it be too hard to randomly spawn a Hobbit at the Pony, maybe a few times a year, with a global broadcast giving ten minutes to get there, and whoever keeps within a certain distance from it along the way to Isengard (or something like that) plus it doesn't die, then everyone gets something cool, a Title, a Steed, an Emerald Shard? (lol)

Please think about this sort of thing Sapience... If you are going as far to get Devs and GM's involved in events at cost to Turbine, then maybe consider automating such things as rare random events with uber cool rewards!

PS - I hope you're enjoying the Tater you got from my kin on the Live Feed you did and we appreciate the time you spent playing with us and answering questions on Nimrodel! D

Questions: What class is your hobbit? If we roll our own hobbit, can we choose any class?
Can the hobbit fight, or must he remain passive?
Must the escort remain the same start to finish, or can players leave and join at will?

On scheduling:
Will these be 29 consecutive days, a specific day(s) each week, or totally random? Will all the challenges begin at the same time?

This is GREAT Sapience! We've been asking for world events for quite a while now and those that participated in the end of beta ones know how much fun they are

However those kind of events bring enormous world lag and server crashes and may cause character wipes (or memory damage wtvr) so I understand they can't happen on live at that scale but this is a small step in that direction and a fun way to bring some change to the regular server lives. on Belegaer the Hobbit dies the lag-dead or because the delays to get no help :-(

But the lag in Europe are previously fixed?

Belegaer is at the moment unplayable and many players from EU walk away from the game at the moment.

I think on Laurelin we should ensure we stop for a drink and food at every bar along the way, with regular bio breaks.

Our aim should be to get the worst time (in our official capacity as the official RP server).

This was my thinking exactly.

Since logistical reasons prevent us from having world events, this is a great alternative. Would love to see these types of things happen more often!

This sounds like fun, but the lag on Brandywine has been horrible the past few days...... don't know if I want to give it a try

Will you be grouping with players to allow better healing/protection/buffs? How large a group will you allow? Will you increase the limit in dynamic layers to allow larger groups to escort you?

Can you please post the schedule of servers/dates&times so that people can adjust schedules with more than just the "night before" warning?
