- Music system
- hobbies
- festivals

Everything has been neglected...When was the last time you saw a new festival or festival zone in game? When was the last hobby update? How many years have people been making fruitless housing revamp suggestions? I can't help the fact that I'm disappointment with the state of the game and the expansion that I paid for... Call me crazy but I expect more out of an MMO than landscape and solo quests.

I can't believe people are STILL talking about the blasted license. Anyone with 2 brain cells to rub together could easily glean the game isn't ending anytime soon. If Turbine had an inkling that there was any chance of LotRO dying, do you think they'd have invested so many dev hours in completely rebuilding the class mechanics from the ground up, completely re-vamping every class and every skill? They're clearly laying groundwork for future development, and anyone who denies the obviousness of that is participating in recreational fear-mongering.

I mean what in his post did anyone actually read that they can look forward too, I mean maybe someone else was seeing something I wasn't. I didn't see one single thing that interests me in the roadmap for 2014.

What part of the answers was a surprise to you? I feel the The Exec Producer letter is a wish list - definitely not a "to do list", I can only assume Sapience et al can only be guided by that wish upon a star nonsense.

I just wanted to drop in and address the concerns surrounding the license, again. We have said as far back as July of 2013, we plan to support LOTRO for many years to come. I really want to be as clear as possible on this subject to avoid any further confusion or misunderstanding. The license was renewed.

I think it's rather clear and direct. I can't think of a more direct way to say the license was renewed than to say the license was renewed.

You should have stated this as clearly as this way back when.

There have been people who use the non announcement of the licence renewal for the basis of their doom and gloom rubbish... but far more importantly, role players and people who just love this game so much, who are anxious on the renewal of license, these people would love to hear the news.

I just exited the game, and relogged. There is no announcement, there is no communication. There is no single post in a dedicated thread on these forums.... just Sapiences "thought bubble" in this thread.

Communication is an afterthought, a thought bubble and a joke! If I did not know better, I could almost feel being treated with contempt.

You know what, I love your posts. I especially love your wish lists in the Official Housing Thread, a waste of time mind you, (my crystal ball says we will not get housing this year, that batman game they are working on is badly sucking Turbines resources), however I don't read licence agreements for a living, but know businesses will sell stuff right up to the very last second they keep their doors open. This game could shut tomorrow with no announcement, and with the very poor communications Turbine has ...

Could it have hurt the Community Manager to announce Great News, the licence was renewed! NO!

What about it appearing in the grand Executive Producers Letter, this piece of amazing news, the license was renewed. Could have been announced there, but was it... NO!

The list you have won't please all players. In fact, there's NOTHING on your list I care about or spent 5 minutes a week worrying about. I have a house I never go to. I have a kinship that has been basically decimated by lack of raids. I don't play music. I don't fish. After the grind started with the war steed cosmetic in Yule 2012 I haven't been to a festival since.

You're talking about what I call fluff. You may call what I enjoy something else, and that's okay too. I support your desire for what you want and believe it needs attention. I believe attention should also be given to creating group content for end game raiders to play. I also expect more out of an MMO than landscape and solo quests. I expect raids and instances.

How you managed to glean any of this from me responding to someone else about what is or isn't a rude post is beyond me. You know absolutely nothing about me, my play style, opinion of the current game state -- NOTHING. I didn't say anything, one way or the other, regarding the state of the game. I didn't provide a "spirited defense" of the game. I didn't call or even suggest that anyone who disagrees with me is a whiny troll. Sorry, that is a very very very patronizing and rude way to speak to all those if us that have been concerned over the past year.

Congratulations on getting conformation from your bosses to announce it, but to imply this has always been the case and people have been worried for nothing is simply wrong

Time and time again numerous people have made posts asking for simple conformation like you have just given, time and time again you were very very vague.

I personally asked numerous times for you to say those simple words "The license has been renewed" rather than implying you would be working on Lotro for many years to come, as they are very very different things.

For example, a quick search of my posts brings up this one

If Sapience made the following comment

"I can confirm that the license has been extended until at least 2017" then that is a very very clear and simple answer that would put all these discussions to rest. And while requests for a simple conformation have been made numerous times, he still hasn't done so in words that actually confirm they do have the license

The fact that up until now, no one at Turbine has done so, pretty obviously indicates that they don't have a firm answer yet, sure they are hoping to get it, sure chances are they will, but things could go wrong and until they actually spell it out in English that they do have an extended license, the rumor mills will be raging and it is possible that they might not get it.

So while I'm very very glad you have the license, to imply this was always the case and we've been complaining for nothing, shows the contempt you seem to show those of us that have real concerns with this game.

Actually this is the FIRST time I've seen Sapience utter those words, in the innumerable times this has come up he's never said it to my knowledge.

Nor this:

We have an agreement that runs through 2017.

Fact is as far as I see it Turbine have never actually posted a PR bit reporting this, in spite of the fact they know damned well that umpteen thousands of their customers have been concerned about this for a very long time.

If I'm wrong I'd be happy to read the Press Release which Turbine did publish Sapience, should you care to post a link to it.
