I hope it starts on the very last days of the month I haven't had time to continue questing forward since before the Anniversary! Too many events and stuff going on, and not enough rest between everything, but starting tomorrow I'll have time to quest!

During festivals I only do festival quests so that stops my adventuring until the festival is over so please wait until the very end of the month before starting the Spring Festival

I expect it to start next week, following Memorial Day in the US. I might be wrong.

The way they wait till the last second to give out event information around here, you'd think it was against some law.
Maybe they have some problem with allowing the players the common decency of being informed, so they can make
some kind of plans ahead of time...

I prefer the wait its much more fun when it just pops up unexpectedly Although Bilbo would probably disapprove

I know, right? I mean, even if they are not 100% sure on the start date, they can at least guess and give us something. If it needs to be changed after that, we'll all understand. It isn't like anyone would go off on a rage-fueled forum rant about lies and broken promises, right?

    Ahem.

Anyway, my guess for the start date would agree with cdq's for next week. When it is officially announced we will know for sure and, whatever the start date, my hobbit will be looking forward to adding to his collection of festival goodies. (Now I just need to find more storage space to keep everything.)

We moved it up a day. Making some final validation checks, then it should be live on all servers along with the marketing and information pages.

This is going to significantly cut into my enjoyment of the festival. I miss having a reason to pull out The Brasse maps once a year.

Anyone have a list of what 'Spring Prize Box' can give?

I've spotteed a 'Shrew Pet', '2 Spring Leaves' (Alas, the pet wasn' t one of my boxes, so I don't know about its' bind status.

That is pretty much all game forums and all changes. (Also, sometimes Posters 1 and 2 are the same person.)

I'll proudly admit to being one of those two posters. Not everyone will like all the changes. I think it was a +Turbine who said something summarized as For any change: Player segment A will like the changes. Player Segment B will dislike the changes. Player Segment C won't care either way. All that happens is we shuffle the players around.

Maybe on some occasions they move the numbers around significantly from those who have issues with, or like the existing implementation, but this to me seems like a change made for change's sake. I know itemization and the World Building and Quest Teams are separate. I'd just rather have seen the itemization addressed more than this. We have at least 2 random rewards with no guaranteed progression path. Even with Rowans comments about rethinking festival itemization (See Riddermak TTHTI summary). I want to see a fuller, more fleshed out Paths of the Dead, and other areas as we move forward.

I think it's safe to say we've all been one of those two posters at some point, Crell.

Here's pics of the possible shrews.... Not had luck myself, so can't comment on if they only come from Enormous Shrew quest, but you may notice the colour of the giftbox on that one is different from the Expert Gardener, so they may have their own loot pool etc etc.

and player D is on vacation IRL and wishes to be in the game for the festival but the resort has junk internet and cell phone service is spotty at best. HA!

Does anybody know if the recipe for Fine Hauberk still drops from the Spring Festival? Thank you.

I can confirm that all 4 shrews are not bound. I can't confirm that any are exclusive to any 1 means of acquisition (especially with at least 1 of them coming from flower nodes). The different 'Spring Prize Boxes' may have different shrews as their rare reward, be weighted in bias of one of the 4 rare shrews (with it still being possible to get the other 3!) or any other number of possibilities.

It's probably just best for us to track down which shrew is associated with which box, and which are ones that can come from a flower node. Any overlap noted will just be another option for that specific shrew.

I wouldn't be surprise the enormous shrew comes from the stomp a shrew quest. If that's the case, I won't get my shrew.

It hasn't dropped in years. Nor has the quiver recipe that used to drop from one of the festivals. Making these recipes (and their outputs) extremely rare on the F2P launch worlds.

If for some reason, someone notices these drops return, I would very much like to hear about it.

There's always the option of buy/trade with unbound rewards..

I've got a standing offer to folk on Riddermark who don't want their shrew drops. Hold on to it and mail Edhul about it. Trust me, you'll almost certainly be glad you did.

I'll edit this post when I'm back on Edhul with the name of someone who took me up on it who'll vouch for me.

    Edit:

Valyri/Maedharth has already taken me up on my offer. Feel free to ask him just how satisfied/pleased he was that he inquired. =)

I'll try to check the mail daily, but don't be surprised if it takes a couple days. Lots going on in RL.
