Update 15.2.3 Release Notes – PRELIMINARY AND NON-FINAL - BULLROARER ONLY

The following release notes are for the Bullroarer public test server only and may not reflect the final list of changes or updates included at release.

These notes are not final and should be viewed as a work in progress and subject to change.

Due to the method of gathering information for the patch notes, there may be duplicate/similar entries or topics that are not included.

The Eyes and Guard Tavern is now open!
Please note you will also not be able to advance class and race traits for Beornings at this time.

Important Note: Given the scope of this update please be aware that the build you are seeing here is a work in progress and is by no means the finished Update 15.2 product. There are many items that are not yet complete or added into what you are seeing. There may also be items missing from this initial list, this is not intentional and will be added as we progress.

You can use Character Copy to bring over an existing character from the Live servers.

    General
    • Continued Music system updates. These include the return of bagpipe drone and more volume leveling. Please let us know what you think.

KNOWN ISSUE: There is some broken French localization in this build.

We're not getting much changes between builds. Does that mean we're gonna have many builds to come before U15.2 goes live?

    From this event schedule: https://www.lotro.com/forums/showthr...ts-(Tentative)

I don't see Anniversary Festival anywhere. The festival is already in Bullroarer, so I guess if they intend to celebrate the festival after March, then we will certainly have a lot of other builds, if they release a new build weekly or per two weeks.

    The Anniversary is in April.

I think the many builds is to tweak the music system primarily.. it requires quite a bit of feedback to get right.

But isn't April the month U16 will be released?

Anniversary is always in April, because LOTRO was released in April, 2007.

U16 might be the mid-end of April, so they are loading in the stuff now because there won't be another patch until April.

Given other things happening this year, I don't expect U16 before June. I may be wrong.

BR is going to have to test the changes to the transfer system. In my mind, when they do that, they don't need to be doing anything else test-wise. Since they're talking about early spring for the transfer system changes, I don't see how U16 fits while that's the focus. After that, I can see some U16 work, which is why I'm thinking June for it.

Turbine was closed a lot this week due to the bad weather. I suspect that there was not a lot of approved for Bullroarer updates available to be included in this weeks build. We got what was ready to ship.

It makes sense. I hope we can get some changes on the rewards that we can get with Roving Threats NPCs. I really didn't see much changes on that since we have had many feedback from it and also hoping more changes on Beornings. Well, let's wait and see until next build.

Hmmmmmm, could be. It's possible. I honestly wouldn't hold out hopes for anything major to be added, rewards are going to stay as they are, 15.2 testing is wrapping up IMHO. Could be wrong but I'm basing this on a lot of previous testing where we feedback, ask for things, and nothing changes. At best I would hope for some more support for Beorning to go in, to develop the class to a point where it's more than cosmetic.

We are just looking at a very slim update with not much going on and little to test. Think Dead Marshes but even less than that. I think it's wise as Turbine have bigger issues with the server migrations to think about. 15.2 is going to be small, IMO totally passable, skip it and you won't miss anything.

Sanity testing the Anniversary fest at this point - I'd assume this is happening now simply as they won't have chance to proc another BR build before April, so just do it now. Plus come that time hopefully we'll be in Beta for either U16 or the nitty gritty transfer features for kins etc

My personal stance on all this - this update, forget about it, it ALL hinges on server migrations being dealt with in a timely manner, and if U16 continues with RNG loot, focus on epic battles, opening boxes that you can get from a 12man deeping wall or a solo 'have as much time as you like to prep' helm's dike and get the SAME rewards. Itemisation, Spread of Loot, Challenge, Meaningful Progression. Key moving forwards, or the migrations may as well be a sweeping closure.

A weaver who must nourish his family ...
Is it possible to think of the impact that changes your new classes on heros bring in pvp?
Because then it became just ridiculous solo gameplay of a weaver type monster (my experience) face overkill classes you do not stop up to each update.
    A word to salvation.
