Also you can just get the kindle app for free and read kindle books that way, no kindle needed.
Oh not at all! I just can't read them no more cause of my eye problems sadly. Even with the Nook I gotta supersize the font to the biggest setting. I have to do the same with the chat here in game.

But that's cool about the app! I'll have to check it out!

Ahh I gotcha. Yeah the app is handy, especially with all the free books out there!

Another storyline that I really love is a young thane in East Rohan that wants to fight like his father did, but is constantly refrained by his mother. When he threatens to throw one of his guards in the stockade for being over protective the guard chuckles as he makes a comment that he is just like his father.
Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside, totally worn out & proclaiming "WOW, what a ride!"

Yes, it's a good one. Replayed it with my Hunter no too long ago and my Champion is closing in to play it once again. A bright young man for sure!

Ah yes, that one was a nice change from the gloom and despair and treachery.

And his surprise as he opened the mead hall to see what had happened outside brought a smile to my face.

One of my more recent finds I really liked was in Cliving where I got to play 'Detective' and help solve a crime. Really appealed to my inner Sherlock Holmes.

    Very well done I thought.

No clue why access was removed. fwiw, we can still get within sight of the farmer and his friends, but no longer enter their dell. If you're still on Silverlode, if you can catch me when I'm on Skop, I'll show ya the way, if you like.

meebe we can get this stickied somewhere so we can revisit with new Bravo!s for new stories / interludes. I don't normally impress easily. when I am sitting in a puddle of my own tears or falling out of a chair laughing I think someone should know... and not 5 years down the road when that person no longer reads the forums.

JWBarry getting his due! He didn't often dip into region content design, but when he did he gave us one of LOTRO's most meme-worthy lines.

Me. And I stand by it.

EDIT: Though, having written that, I realize that might be an oversimplification. The spoilered event was actually the result of a host of actions and decisions, beginning with the duties of the Grey Company levied from Aragorn through Halbarad, escalated by the well-meaning information provided by Ergothorn, and finally set into motion by Candaith's decision along the Forsaken Road and the fundamental nature of the Oath-breakers. They served Sauron, and had no duty to Aragorn's agents. That useful information came to the Grey Company as a result of the misadventure along the Forsaken Road is a testament to the utility of Candaith's decision.

I heard that the Horn,Nona, and Corudan was someone elses storyline. We all know whats happens to Horn eventually but will we get a conclusion to what happens after Sauron's fall?

Well, I like your explanation but it's still a dagger in my heart every time I take a character through that quest.

I think it was more honourable to lie and die in that situation than to flee in truth and risk his chief dying later on for want of an Army of the Dead.

But one of the reasons I love writing for LOTRO so much is that it can give rise to discussions like this. We don't always go for the safest story-choice, and I think the game is more interesting for it.

    I wept for that death

Even though we poke fun at the feckless Grey Company (ignoring that of course we know MUCH more than they do about the course of events they aren't directly involved in) I think that Volume of the Epic remains my favorite because it brings out the many, many allies that fought against the encroachment of Sauron.

Outmatched, underinformed, and sometimes reckless, they struggle to find their way. Knowing no one will probably know if they fall except their immediate companions.

Candaith made a brash decision. Then, he stood by the predictable (to anyone else) outcome of that decision.

    That is good storytelling.

And I cry every damn time.

Yes, this was a traumatic event for me also. I'd been using his second-best bows for ages... I seem to recall zerging with other L15 baby hunters in pre-launch Brandywine to get 'em after we'd exhausted the possibilities of Thornley's bow. About the Oath-breakers, though... did they *really* serve Sauron? I don't remember that bit. I know they had been expected to serve the King and defaulted on that commitment, but I don't remember anything about serving Sauron.

I never did get on board with the whole fake Ring of Barahir sequence: it always seemed to me that most people wouldn't even know what it was supposed to be, and those that did would have some way of telling whether it *was* what it was supposed to be. And so it turned out. Makes a nice memento for the survivors or trophy for their conquerors, though. Where's mine!!?!!1!!!!??4???

A testament to the author to bring substance into a story. I agree and I had a problem with him lying... since I never make mistakes. He goes from being close to demi-god to mere mortal. Such is the fall of man...

No they didn't. In LOTRO the dead are made to believe that Sauron could redeem them, but as far as I know this isn't lore-based.

But to the others: don't encourage him! he killed off the only thing that kept me interested in the grey company
