You happen to have a population list handy?
All of the banter per-transfer announcement showed it pretty low on the list every time a list was presented.
Considering I can pretty much run around an entire zone all day and never see anyone, and barely find anything on the AH that's not lvl 100, I'd hate to see a less populated world.

That is the official order the worlds will closed and allowed to transfer.
I find it interesting the transfer tool says I have 18 characters on Gladden, when I have only 16 spots with 12 characters. I have no other "account" on Gladden attached to the email address that I'm aware of, and certainly not one that would have 6 characters on it as my 3 VIP/lifer accounts all have different email addresses.
I'd explain it to you, but I'm all out of Puppets and Crayons.

Thanks Turbine! The 1 account that was getting the blank worlds screen is now just fine.
Also I noticed what looked like two extra chars that weren't mine, but on closer inspection those are the creeps I created in 2011 and never play :-)
All looks good from my perspective. Thanks again.

No, I don't. But I do know this:
1) The public sites that reveal LOGIN information do NOT say anything about how many characters on each server.
2) Only Turbine actually knows how many characters there are on each server.
3) Turbine has stated that the order listed is from low to high population. (Again: population does not equal logins).
So, bottom line: Unless Vyvyanne is blantantly lying to us, there is no reason to assume the list posted isn't correct, and isn't from low to high population.
I don't have any assumptions to think otherwise, and quite frankly: no one does.
It is what it is, and it is what is said. Since we can't look in the back-end database to see how many characters there are on each server, we will just have to take Vyvyanne's word for it, and that is what I am choosing to do.
Moved from Riddermark to Arkenstone on 9/29/2015!

I'm on eldar, and the transfer wizard is not showing any "your worlds".

How do you access the transfer service? I don't see anything at the character selection screen when I log into any of the core servers.
Here is the list: https://www.lotro.com/en/game/articl...e-announcement
There is no other list, there is no speculation, that is the official list as posted in the articles of Turbine's website here. There has been no revision, change, wording, or removal of that list. It's also not currently relevant, as they said they aren't opening other servers to transfers until after they shut down the current test Friday, review the data, and make adjustments/plans accordingly.
There is no misconception of server populations, the list is in order of smallest to largest, as specified by Vyvyanne in response to a user post suggesting it before the article was published.

So, I just transferred a character from Crickhollow to Landroval and thought I would share my experience with you all.
It was extremely smooth. I just followed the instructions on the transfer screen, choosing to take one character and the shared storage to the new world. The last screen said the transfer was in progress and I could expect an email when it was done. I received the confirmation email within minutes - I was shocked at how fast it was.
I logged into Landy and lo and behold, there was my guy with all his stuff (standing right where I left him on Crickhollow, of course). Now here is the part that is a little confusing and I don't know if the devs would want to know about it or not - you guys tell me what you think. The character I decided to transfer to Ladroval is named Darkthorne. I had previously logged onto Landroval with another toon and set up a friends list to check name availability and discovered there was a level 1 Darkthorne that had not been played in at least a couple years so I knew I would get the name and the original should end up with Darkthorne-1. So I logged in and confirmed that I was indeed Darkthorne but on my friends list there was now a Darkthorne at the top of the list showing as online that was my level and location. It has to be me, right? Well you are not supposed to be able to add yourself to your own friends list. I then removed the character from my friends list and then tried to add "Darkthorne" again. I was greeted with the expected error of "You cannot add yourself". But for the heck of it I tried to see if I could add "Darkthorne-1" and the name popped back into the friends list as "Darkthorne" (without the -1)! It was still showing my level and location but it can't be me, I thought to myself, because you can't add yourself AND I typed the -1 but it still had my stats. I don't really know what this means. Will the -1 character continue to show my stats until they log in the original toon someday (if ever). Will there be a name conflict when/if they ever decide to log in again?
I'm not worried about it because this was just a practice run with a low level toon but I'm here to say that the transfer itself was a breeze! Nice work team!
I'd love to hear some of your thoughts on what might have happened and whether I should bug it.
~Best Regards to all
Ran into the problem where 1 creep character being transferred from Gladden resulted in 2 characters being created on Crickhollow. An xyz and xyz-1. Only xyz-1 appears on the character selection screen. If xyz-1 sends a tell to xyz, xyz-1 will receive that tell. Also xyz-1 will not be able to add xyz to the friends list. I verified that character name xyz did not exist on freep side. After some time passed (less than 30 minutes), and maybe after relogging, the tells will no longer rubberband and xyz can be added to the friends list. The friends list will show xyz's last time online as the transfer time, or the last time xyz-1 was online. I deleted the characters and tried the same transfer over again...the bug was repeatable. Submitted bug #24027-100663.
The problem happened a second time with a different creep character name being transferred from Gladden to Landroval.
These character names were previously taken, so it's possible the transfer process isn't creating duplicates, but that the game is getting tells and friends list data confused between old and new characters.

Ok I'm getting a little confused (I'm an older player so please bear with me). As I understand it I can now transfer my characters between the 5 US remaining worlds. This service will run for 48 hours until Friday then turned off again. Do I have to do this in this time or will it be turned back on again after they look at the data? I would prefer to wait a bit until they worked out the problems and not rush to do it. Sorry about this silly question but so much is going on I can't keep up! Thanks for listening.
You can mouseover the "x characters" display in the transfer window which will show you a list of all those characters. Then you will see which characters you don't know.
You may have run into a bug that is related to what I discovered yesterday. May I quote myself:
In my case I still see the inactive level 22 hunter but it has my name in the friend list. In your case it was a level 1 character. Maybe this character was never logged in and therefore displays differently? I /bugged it and you should too. Include a screenshot in the bug report if you can.
I just logged in and found that the other character is now displayed as "name-1" so it looks like the game may need some (daily) maintenance run to clear old data. As long as this is just a display bug I won't worry.
Sure they will turn the service back on at a later date. No need to hurry now.
Thanks for your detailed info. I feel less worried about future transfer.
However, regarding friends list, since I can remember I have always been in my own friends list.
I couldn't give you step by step instructions, but since I have lots of alts I always add them to my list (to see last log in time, mainly, so as to not forget someone for too long in the 'rotation'). In the end, after a few login with different alts, I always end up being in my own list with all chars.
Nothing to worry about, I think.
The big question on my mind is how long we will have to use the free tranfer option when our servers actually close. I have characters on Withywindle but that looks like being in the new year before it can transfer and I may not be available for a few months then, so what happens if I come back and find the server closed and free transfers finished? Is there a time limit on how long I can transfer off the closing world for free? Will I have to pay to move them then or will it still free to move them even if I come back after a year?
No email, transfer wizard shows still deleted placeholders on destination server half an hour after they've been deleted, transfer did not happen, wizard shows 'transferred' characters on original server still.
Yes, this is an xfer between the 5 remaining worlds.
No, I'm not trying to go to Brandy.
You should be fine according to the article to transfer. At that point, the servers will probably be closed to play but the option to transfer will remain free indefinitely.
https://www.lotro.com/en/game/articles/world-transfers
On October 1st, transfers between the remaining ten will once again become paid, however transfers off of the impacted worlds will remain free indefinitely.
