Any idea at what time transfers off of Gilrain will be switched on? As it's the 28th now

With Elendilmir I believe they came up just before 11:30AM EST (server time). That's not much to go on, but perhaps it will keep you calm if it takes you almost another 2 hours. Either go early, go after 24-36 hours, or be ready for a long wait during the transfer, if it goes anything like ours. Good luck!

I remember transfers being turned on around 11:00 EST Server time, which should be 20:00 CET. Could be a little later as the post above me suggests. It's a manual turn-on, so you'll just have to wait till someone flicks the switch....

Thanks for keeping people posted where they are directly asking these questions. It is extremely refreshing to see how proactive you have been on communications - it's a very different tone than in the past. It is noticed and very much appreciated.

We will be reopening transfers between remaining worlds after we are on the new hardware. We expect this work to be done towards the end of the Fall.

U17 is not reliant on the new hardware. We expect to have it release before the hardware work is complete.

Update 17 is different from opening the transfers between servers or adding new hardware. An update to the game doesn't require new hardware (although, new instances probably do require hardware capacity somewhere of course), so these things should be seen as completely different projects. Update 17 may hit in between all of the transfers, or it may hit after the transfers, who knows.... but one does not really depend on the other.

That said, they probably want to get the majority of transfers out of the way before patching the game with a major update. One headache at a time.

Not at this time. The transfer system can only handle so many requests at a time and we need to give priority to those players whose worlds are being closed next year.

As a side note, Frelorn talked about making new hardware testing, an event with in game rewards for those that help. So, when the new hardware is up for testing, let us all take part in the beta test. And, let us all test Minis Tirith, when it goes to beta, as well.

By Fall do you mean the meteorological Fall ( Sep 1 - Nov 30 ) or the astronomical Fall ( Sep 23 - Dec 21 )?

Correct. "End of Fall" does not mean it will be on Dec 15th or something like that, I just noted that Fall officially ends on December 22nd. It could be anywhere before that, and typically "end of fall" is probably much closer to late November than December. Obviously it isn't a date that is edged in stone, so we will just have to wait and see.
