This week's bird-themed outfit is inspired both by a Warden's shield from a Moria quest and the upcoming Thanksgiving holiday in the US.

That hauberk looks better with [Ceremonial Wig-feld] than with the Swan-cloak. IMO.
question of personal taste of coursethe ceremonial Wig-feld has blue tones that are too dark for the hauberk, the Swan wing is closer to the hauberk colour scheme
I'm more concerned with the level of detail. The swan-cloak seems far too ornate, with the tiniest, most miniscule of embellishments lining nearly every edge. It's very distracting if an outfit is generally very ornate and colorful, but then a large swath of it is a plain color without any trimming. The same principle applies here.
Wig-feld not only matches the level of detail with the eagle crest; the two also have matching colors thanks to the copper studs in the hauberk and the leather hilt on the Wig-feld's sword emblem.
It really is a question of personal taste. I don't exactly make these outfits to be set in stone. Everyone is welcome to make adjustments as they see fit should they choose to wear it.
I did consider the Wig-feld, but that large central area is too deep and bold of a blue to match the other pieces I used. In addition, I felt the sword emblem on the back of it was very distracting especially when wearing something based on the imagery of an eagle. I chose the Swan-cloak because the dyeable area can be made steel blue (keeping the gradient of muted blues universal), the wing pattern is white (that refers to the shoulders, circlet, and crest on the hauberk), and the dual shades of golden embroidery in the cloak compliment those found in the hauberk and the dyed Nadhin pieces.

Black clothing, of course, is associated with the Nazgul,
so perhaps that's why there isn't much of it.
You can always dye it ... Scholars used to be able to make
black dye as a crit on the Rust Dye recipe. That ability got
removed while I wasn't looking, darn it, but you can still find
the stuff for sale, either at Lalia's or on the Store or maybe
both.

or simply because black dye is in shortage, or clothes don't always dye a nice black but a washed down :P that black in associated with Nazgul I can definitely say it is not why there seem to be few black outfits... and also we have more pretty colours than black XD
that said, a new recipe for black dye will be in the next patch that is currently on BR.
There is a Scholar Guild recipe that yields 5 Black dyes every time and it only has a 24 hour cooldown. So worth leveling up the rep if you like black in your outfits.

Today is a good day for Pie.
Do not meddle in the affairs of Burglars, for they are subtle and quick to shank you.
A new black dye recipe is coming with the next patch (U17.2), its right now in Bullroarer, a guild recipe with no cooldown, for 1/3 black dyes.

The first one ? I thought it was a crafted one, but apparently I was thinking of a rather similar looking 2h. I'm sure I saw one of them, so I guess it's from questing, perhaps around trollshaw/evendim.
I don't think why this poor hobbit deserve that, he is been doing that for almost a decade now.
On a side note, it's irking way more than it should, but you have shoes on a Hobbit. This is wrong. Like universe ending wrong.
